Men of the hour and part of the Endless Illusion crew from Prague joins RET with a 5 tracker ranging from Electro to wave-ish Techno. After releasing on labels like Midlight, Eidectic and more recent Brokntoys Ladislav Zensor drops another fierce and well executed joint. The ep kicks off with an extended acid injected electro track called ''All Things Are Possible''. Second track ''Transgas'' continues this threatment for the A side. The flip has a more darker perspective with flanged hi hats and eerie atmosphere. ''Defenestrace'' contains a strange vox going over the track from the beginning, it then quickly gains power by its dubbed out framework. The days of EBM and newbeat comes to mind when we hear ''Straight Folded'' which sounds like its recorded straight on a tape in the mid 80's. Last not least ''Very Fake News'' closes things of, with a driving kick-bassline and shattering snares causing pleasure on the dancefloor. Dark days are coming towards us.

A venture into dancefloor territory under a heavy breakbeat / drum & bass influence. This could be the soundtrack of a Wipeout 2097 video game, a sci-fi chase scene, it rumbles, it crawls, it groans and explodes while providing Apollo Noir's peculiar melodic style.
A new facet of the french producer, slowly unveiling the shades of his upcoming « Chaos ID » album.

BIOGRAPHY

After growing up in the middle of the deepest French countryside (one would say in the middle of nowhere), a place called « The Black Woods » in Auvergne, Apollo Noir got into music playing drums in various Hardcore Punk and Grind bands. Hardcore is always a good way of starting music, a bit like going to the conservatory for classical musicians. During all these years being a drummer, Apollo Noir listened to a lot of music, learning, digesting, forging a solid knowledge of indie music that will help him define his future sound.
Eventually he came across a drum machine/ sequencer / synth made by Roland in the 90s called the MC909. A cheap machine used in a lot of Trance productions at that time. That was his entry point to making electronic music and how he started collecting synths obsessively.
Almost an adult, he’s ready to start his own solo project that he will call Apollo Noir as a nod to his childhood ‘Black Woods’.
His first album ‘A/N’ almost naturally comes to the ears of Tigersushi, the kind of music we love here, ambitious, emotional, challenging, genre-defying. For him this is a distortion of reality, where music and spirituality become one. Apollo’s music combines rawness, brutalism, minimalism and perfectionism in a very unique way. A few transformed voices haunt the record like a ghostly mass. There’s elements of Vangelis epic synths, Oneohtrix Point Never’s futuristic free forms or Sonic Youth dissonant noise, all made mostly from rearranged live takes recorded with a whole analog synth and drum machines set up. And yet it doesn’t sound vintage at all.
This is a trip to a distant planet, both familiar and strange, a psychedelic and distorted utopia.

It’s been a very challenging year for everyone, but one thing we will always need to help get us through is music. And as Shakespeare said, “If music be the food of love, play on”, so Cod3 QR will play on and continue to provide a diverse style of electronic music that will hopefully help lift your spirits.

With previous releases including tracks later revealed to be by the likes of Agents of Time, JoeFarr, Nicolas Bougaieff, Madben, CYRK, R.O.S.H, Galaxy Lane and more; plus support from DJs like Laurent Garnier, who licensed a track to his Tsugi Electro Mix (Francois V’s ‘Electro’ taken from Cod3QR001), Cod3QR’s profile has steadily grown as a label releasing quality music.

As with previous releases, music is the label’s main focus, so you'll have to wait another 2 months to find out who is behind this latest release. Head to their Instagram page (ig: cod3qr) for clues and reveals of artist identities.

As a final note: although this is the label’s last release of 2020, they promise to bring you a big surprise in 2021, so keep your eyes peeled!

Arnaud Rebotini is a singer, songwriter, producer and remixer, he has become one of the most emblematic figures in electronic music today, adept at straddling genres, both avant-garde and timeless, and bringing them together. 
For example, his Zend Avesta project (Organique, Universal 2000) married electronic music with a chamber orchestra. 
With his analogue synthesisers, he became a central figure on the scene of new international techno, marking renewed enthusiasm for the use of electronic instruments rather than just computers. His live shows have always been unanimously celebrated (Music Components, Citizen 2008, Someone Give Me Religion, K7 - 2010) and his remixes for pour Depeche Mode, David Guetta, Rammstein, The Rapture, Bloc Party, Acid Washed and Tristesse Contemporaine are as indicative of his sets at the biggest clubs and festivals (playing live or mixing) as his collaboration with the highbrow Groupe de Recherches Musicales, especially with Christian Zanési for their Frontières project.
