Hello folks, after a short break on Soundcloud and some fulminant Blank Wave parties with Perel, Shubostar and Lauer, we're back again with a highly anticipated double feature: Welcome Andi, the New York City-based DJ and producer, who is also founder of the dark synth and industrial party and label, Synthicide. She contributed this marvellous exclusive mix for our Blank Wave series and is also playing her debut in Frankfurt on our event on Saturday, June 16 2023, at ono2 accompanied by Shia LaBiff. 

Andi now holds her ninth-year residency at Brooklyn’s notorious venue Bossa Nova Civic Club. Her aesthetic combines her devotion to underground 1980s industrial, EBM, new beat, and sleazy synth whose dark beats create an exciting soundscape that is unarguably danceable. She has DJed all over the world and is known in niche music circuits for her ability to mix together older tracks with new ones to create a diverse and unique set. Additionally, Andi is part of the ItaloMatic crew, a resident at The Lot Radio, and a resident DJ at the dark 80s new wave night, Music For the Masses.

Her own productions aim to challenge the expectations within the confines of the masculine EBM genre, often focusing on the ideas of revenge and strength through a woman’s perspective. Andi released her first EP, Corpse to Corpus, on aufnahme + wiedergabe in 2020, the Torque Force split EP with Randolph & Mortimer on Mecanica Records in 2021 and recently the EP Compelling Evidence on a+w. Now available for pre-order via Mannequin Records is her Parafernales EP feat. Machino.

Today we invite a new great talent Armela,  based in Barcelona and Born in Italy. 
Her musical style is eclectic, deeply colored by darkwave, alternative, and post-punk influences. In the dynamic realm of electronic music, Armela thrives on exploring a multitude of genres. Her music mirrors the phases of the moon, each genre symbolizing a distinct lunar stage. The full moon embodies her brighter side, resonating with the euphoria of '90s progressive house, the spirited rhythms of indie dance, and the rhythmic pulse of new beat. As the moon diminishes, a profounder, introspective facet surfaces, marked by the sheer power of techno, synthesized EBM beats, and the entrancing rhythms of acid and electro. The crescent phase ushers in the somber tones of dark disco, harmonizing the light and shadow of her musical preferences. 

Armela's sets transition from deep, minimalist electronics to shadowy, mystic sounds and thundering techno anthems. They traverse sensual and nostalgic beats, that she calls deep dark electronic wave.

Originally from Brazil and currently making waves in Berlin's dynamic music scene, Paty Vapor is a multifaceted artist known for her roles as DJ, curator and event producer. 

She is part of the Italian label-collective Slow Motion / Wrong Era and co-founder of the female-focused event series 'Wisdom Tits & The Mad Express presents'. Holding a residency at the Berlin club Sameheads and at Blum in her hometown Sao Paulo, she regularly showcases her sound at the pinnacle of Berlin's venues, across Europe, and in Brazil, solo or as one half of the DJ duo Wisdom Tits alongside Caillou.

Her sets evoke an old-school nostalgia of the ’80s, weaving through EBM, Electro, and Industrial, smoothly blending with Synthpunk, Wave, obscure Italo and Belgian New Beat. Characterized by powerful kicks, bold basslines, ethereal synths, and enigmatic vocals. Paty Vapor's sonic tapestry is a captivating fusion of the old and the avant-garde. Enough said, here's our outstanding guest mix no. 43!

Based in Amsterdam, Janssen’s journey into music began in his youth when it provided solace during challenging times. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that he began to explore music seriously, purchasing his first Roland MC-303 synthesizer and venturing into the world of functional techno. Janssen’s early works were marked by a deep appreciation for how music could unite people and offer an escape from life’s struggles. This connection to music has driven him to continually evolve his sound, and in recent years, he has adopted the moniker “The Spy”. Under this name, he has shifted towards a more experimental and evocative style, blending boot-stomping techno with cybernetic grooves, jittery IDM, and sinister electro. His music is the perfect soundtrack for dark, pounding basements where time seems to stand still, drawing listeners into a world of ominous electronics

Arnaud Rebotini is a singer, songwriter, producer and remixer, he has become one of the most emblematic figures in electronic music today, adept at straddling genres, both avant-garde and timeless, and bringing them together. 
For example, his Zend Avesta project (Organique, Universal 2000) married electronic music with a chamber orchestra. 
With his analogue synthesisers, he became a central figure on the scene of new international techno, marking renewed enthusiasm for the use of electronic instruments rather than just computers. His live shows have always been unanimously celebrated (Music Components, Citizen 2008, Someone Give Me Religion, K7 - 2010) and his remixes for pour Depeche Mode, David Guetta, Rammstein, The Rapture, Bloc Party, Acid Washed and Tristesse Contemporaine are as indicative of his sets at the biggest clubs and festivals (playing live or mixing) as his collaboration with the highbrow Groupe de Recherches Musicales, especially with Christian Zanési for their Frontières project.
