The concept behind this split 12” is simple. Two artists who are divided by the Atlantic Ocean but unified by a love of classic New Beat sounds. Andi, boss of the New York City-based Synthicide record label/club night and Aufnahme + Wiedergabe recording artist, combined forces with Sheffield’s Industrialist and lover of underground Body Music, Randolph & Mortimer, to present their own interpretation to the unmistakable Belgian genre.

Thus, “Torque Force” was forged. A landscape where seedy neon-soaked city streets merge with the clang of hammers and of industry: Gotham versus The Steel City. Andi brings pure style to Side A with driving beats and rolling, lo-fi percussion overlaid by seriously funky basslines and ominous samples. Side B is jammed with the unmistakable dancibility found in Randolph & Mortimer’s oeuvre that forces the body to move —with intense, in-your-face synth lines and precise beats, there is no choice but to dance.

The four tracks on “Torque Force” are not just uber cool dancefloor killers, but could easily soundtrack a slew of 1980s dystopian cyber-sleaze movies. She must have violated the program…

Slowly but fiercely, the Spanish label Banshees Records has been carving in stone its place among the most interesting platforms devoted to the dark side of music – aka Dark Disco, Cold Wave, EBM, Industrial & whatnot. Curated by Toledo-based producer Israel Padilla, the imprint has – since its beginning in 2021 – already featured some of the best artists in the game such as Curses, Kendal, Parissior (SXDNS206/FREEDL043), Silicodisco, and Jennifer Touch (SXDNS022). For its forthcoming episode to be released in digital and cassette, Banshees presents “Mistakes Of The Mind”, a 7-track EP by Cobrawave divided into five furious originals (one in collaboration with Mimmo) and two blazing remixes made with love by David Carretta and the label boss himself. Premiered here, the former’s collaboration.

And who on Earth is Cobrawave? He is the new alter ego of prolific and skilled Italian producer Futuristant (FREEDL042), and his main focus is on industrial and acid atmospheres exploited through powerful and raw cuts. You will definitely notice such sonority on his showcase debut EP.

Let’s get back to David’s remix, shall we? He respectfully kept many elements of the original but daringly brought the theme to a more “peak time” realm, especially due to the incredible bouncing bassline he added. His interpretation is somewhat brighter and punchier, although still acid and dark. A version that says, “stop dancing with your shadow and dance with me!” – undoubtedly, one of the highlights of the ace release!

With the first EP of 2025, Madd Rod opens the year's catalogue in power. The artist finally releases the long awaited 'Make You Sweat', tested and continuously rearranged through the last two years. The track blends Indie Dance with Electroclash, exploring an EBM-inspired bassline, and the artist's own vocal hints. The production comes as quintessential Rod — heavy analog synths with an abusive amount of chorus and saturation. B-Side ironically titled 'Leisure Suite' comes as Rod's fastest production, reaching 1409 BPM in some parts — expect nothing but heat, messed up synths and an intentional lack of groove. Who can groove past 140 bpm anyways?

UK electronic duo Altered View share their new single Secret Forest, a deep, slow-burning track driven by warm bass, analog synths, and hypnotic vocals. The duo's debut album is slated for release later this year on Inner Shah.

Made up of Johnny Area and Johnny Midnight, Altered View was formed during the lockdowns in a remote woodland in the UK. That sense of isolation and immersion feeds into their sound—part electronic, part post-punk, part dub, with shades of dark disco and psych influence.

Secret Forest builds gradually, drawing the listener in with layered textures and a steady pulse. It’s both minimal and immersive, with a focus on atmosphere over excess—a clear statement of intent from a duo carving out their own space.

Arnaud Rebotini is a singer, songwriter, producer and remixer, he has become one of the most emblematic figures in electronic music today, adept at straddling genres, both avant-garde and timeless, and bringing them together. 
For example, his Zend Avesta project (Organique, Universal 2000) married electronic music with a chamber orchestra. 
With his analogue synthesisers, he became a central figure on the scene of new international techno, marking renewed enthusiasm for the use of electronic instruments rather than just computers. His live shows have always been unanimously celebrated (Music Components, Citizen 2008, Someone Give Me Religion, K7 - 2010) and his remixes for pour Depeche Mode, David Guetta, Rammstein, The Rapture, Bloc Party, Acid Washed and Tristesse Contemporaine are as indicative of his sets at the biggest clubs and festivals (playing live or mixing) as his collaboration with the highbrow Groupe de Recherches Musicales, especially with Christian Zanési for their Frontières project.
