The Ganges and the Taj Mahal. One created by nature, the other one by man. Both of them symbols of life, its beauty, and its fragility. They are also elegantly represented by the two tracks that constitute Aron Estocolmo’s debut “In search of Moksha... Or something of the kind”. The EP holds a depth and a musical maturity that is unusual in dance music. Every detail from the the slightest beat on the tabla drum, to the very titles of the tracks, seem to have an idea behind them. 

The first track, titled “The Ganga river, unpolluted once more”, is a homage to the Ganges. The holy river that provides nearly half a billion people with water, is for mankind the most important body of water on earth. The track could be described almost as an impressionist painting portraying its movement. Close your eyes and listen. You might just feel the waves of the river gently rock your body.



The second track refers to the words uttered by Nobel prize laureate Rabindranath Tagore, when he first laid eyes on the Taj Mahal. “A teardrop on the cheek of eternity”. This is a piece of music that intends to visualize a young boys fascination for the rich heritage left by the Mughal Empire. A Country that before colonization held 24% of the world's economy in its hands. Though today a ghost of its former glory, it never ceases to impress.

For this Botanas, JAJA serve us up two humid, organic tracks seeped in dark green vegetation and marked by screeching birds from the canopy and mysterious voices from the forest floor. One for the deep groove.

Aron Estocolmo dives deep into the mythology of India with "The Riddles And Mysteries Of The Betaal". Meditative sounds with echoes of transcendence  make this track a must for fans of ethnic mid-tempo sounds.

The second track is called “The riddles and mysteries of the Betaal”. In india there is the legend of King Vikram, who promises a sorcerer to capture a celestial spirit known as the Betaal. Each time he tries to capture it, it tells a story that ends with a riddle, and then it escapes. These stories told by the Betaal, make up the literary work known as the Vetala Panchavimshati, which is like an indian One Thousand and One Nights. My father used to read these stories to me and my sister when we were children.

A clean slate. A man with no history. That is how he chooses to describe himself, Aron Estocolmo. With that said, there is an undeniable passion for human history that shines through every aspect of his artistry. Always inspired by the enigmatic nature of our species, every piece of music he produces is a musical story, wrapped into baselines, pads and traditional percussion from every corner of the world. While sounding like no one else, there is always something very recognizable in his music. There is something very human about it. After all, it is the essence of humanity, and what it means to be human, that he tries to explore in the the beats that he produces.

2020 has taken my music project to new heights, but there is a lot more to explore. This last release of 2020 titled "Antriksh, the not so secret love of Rakesh and Kalpana" is inspired by these two Indian pioneers. While I have no ambition to leave the planet, I wish to reach beyond the sky.

With a wish to combine his interest in Indian Classical Music, Clubbing and his artwork, Aron Estocolmo started his project in 2017, with the first release seeing the light of day in March 2018. Drawing the projects’ artwork by hand, and crafting music revolving around indian classical instruments fused with the western club sound, he has managed to create something truly unique. The first release paved way for residencies in Stockholm and international bookings with appearances at Tantra, Ibiza, Equinox Open Air in Geneva, and multiple shows at some of Scandinavia’s largest festivals in both 2018 and 2019.

The project has been supported by the likes of Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Armen Miran, Siavash, Wild Dark, Gene Farris, Richy Ahmed, Animal Trainer, House Music With Love, Ibiza Sonica, and Ibiza Global Radio.
