I am currently in my second year of study towards a PhD in Music Technology at NYU.  My current research involves automatic programming in Max/MSP/Jitter.  I am generally interested in real-time interactivity and machine learning/artificial intelligence as a compositional tool and hope to contribute to both fields by the time I have my degree in hand.  My main motivation is to write computer programs that produce novel musical frameworks, which inspire me to compose, improvise, and/or create.  In other words, I am in no way interested in programming a machine to create music on its own, but instead to place me in situations that I will flourish in creatively.
