@dirtyelementsmusic and @drunk-drivers have built up a strong relationship with @samosarecords featuring on their Italian Disco Machine and remixing for sister label Daje Funk. Now the label have brought them back for a full artist EP and it's a bit of a scorcher. Featuring four tracks of funk and jazz fuelled groove heavy disco this is a real statement of intent for this coalition of Italian producers.

A nearly-lost existential house anthem from Chicago’s second generation, heavily under the influence of Ron Hardy, European EBM, and the struggle of daily life in the city’s marginalised neighbourhoods.
LITIA=LOE (Life In The Insane Asylum = Life On Earth) formed in Chicago amidst the burgeoning house movement of the 80’s. 

Leon Williams, Daryl Wilson, and brothers Grant and Simeon Rogers would meet up every weekend to soak up the sounds at local clubs like Music Box, Medusa, The Power Plant, The Warehouse, and Frankie Knuckles’ Dance Palace, where DJs would mix everything from disco to new wave, industrial to house music. After the clubs closed, they would retreat to Leon’s basement to experiment with synths, inspired by what they had just witnessed at the clubs.

At the time, the record barely made it out of Chicago, but the group did have a chance at notoriety. Rocky Jones of D.J. International Records offered up a “Blood contract” for joining the label. The group declined and the group remained a mystery.

More than 30 years later Each Dawn Every Dawn will finally be available again (no blood contracts needed). Due out though Left Ear records and Mixed Signals,  on the 27th of March 2020. Distro through Rushhour, Seance Centre or Direct in the Antipodes

@dj-will-buck is an artist who only came across our radar fairly recently but he is already a firm favourite here at LV HQ. Hailing from Brookyln. Will plays his cards very close to his chest but we have an interview incoming with him next week discussing all aspects of his career. Safe to say he's an artist who is crafting some pretty incredible house music right now. his latest EP 'NY Hustlin' where he collaborates with another LV favourite @felipe-gordon has just landed via Lovedancing, which is a sister label to the mighty @whiskeydiscomusic, and it's a serious slice of vinyl. We welcome @boogie-cafe-records Alex to the guest mix series this week with a rather delicious selection for your weekend warm up. The label is a UK / Dutch collaboration with label heads Alex Dinham and Chezz at the helm. The label has been a firm favourite of the SB crew since its inception and we've always been digging their sound which regularly pushes the finest disco flavoured deep grooves.

We're excited to see what they've got in store for us in this hour long mix. You'll find some recent favourites as well as some upfront exclusives of new Boogie Cafe releases... 2 new tracks from the Piers Kirwan - Dialogue EP, available in October, as well as a new track from Brine. Later in the year there's a vinyl VA to look forward to called 'Rotterdam on the Move‘, featuring artists all from Rotterdam.

It's hard to overstate the impact this man and his label BBE have on our scene. Is it 25 years already? So many incredible moments that influenced generations of DJ's and music lovers. Pewrsonally I would have to cite the Strange Games and Funky Things series featuring legends DJ Spinna, Kenny Dope and Mr Thing. Jazzy Jeff's Hip Hop forever. Dimitri From Paris with several entries absolutly knocking the art of editing and remixing disco classics out of the park. Dilla's solo effort Welcome To Detroit (Thats just been re-released as a tasty 7" bundle). Kon and Amir's visionary Off Track series.... all of these have been game changing in their own rights but only make about 1% of the output of BBE. 
Obviously Pete has more dimensions to him than "just" A&Ring one of the most legendary labels there is but let's stick to the music and follow him on this week's journey as he kindly has contributed the latest addition to the series. Thank you and enjoy!

Aroop Roy is a producer, musician and label head, who joins the dots between electronic music and borderless organic sounds. From house, garage and techno to jazz, disco and global rhythms, he has enjoyed universal acclaim as a producer and DJ.
Aroop's sets are full of personality, style and infectious groove, earning him a growing reputation as a uniquely gifted DJ. In the last few years, he has been enjoying huge momentum, causing wild scenes at places like Fabric, Koko and Hi Ibiza and lighting up festivals including Defected Croatia, Lost Village, Worldwide and We Out Here.
