At first the winter didn't seem so bad
a little neurosis, the humm of the black dog
I thought I had in in my grasp

A change in scenery always was so good for me
and I thought I was doing so fine for a while there – I thought I had it in my hands
You even said I looked so good as I should with all the time wasted on looks
for your eyes only
To take the hate and then some – I even smiled for you
so you wouldn't feel too bad about what you did, you know how it is ( But what about me? )
I don't want to fight anymore, with anyone, I want to give up and give love
to be loved
