Rough draft of a new song, looking to get a better track on the vocals as this was all live recording done in one take. Also looking to get some harmonies and a second guitar in there!

Pittsburgh Girl

It was approx. 9 pm or so on the corner of Forbes Ave. and Atwood St. - it was sometime during the last week of August. I was waiting for the bus to pick me up after getting some Chipotle and I was listening to some music. I got the sudden urge to write a song... Around 2:30 am, I had somewhat of a song, albeit not good in my opinion. The chorus of that song, stuck with me though. It went "ooooo, yeah you were made for me, and I was made for you... who would have thought that in this world, I'd fall in love with a Pittsburgh Girl". You get the idea.

Fast forward to two weeks ago, I couldn't fall asleep and I played some chords. Within a mere few minutes, I had the first draft of the first two verses of Pittsburgh Girl done. I was excited, as I had hit a song-writing block for some time! This was something worth continuing. The following day, I sat down after work and wrote verse 3 and the bridge. I was left wondering, "where do I go with the chorus??". And that is when it hit me; Pittsburgh Girl! 

After a little bit of polishing up and re-writing some of the lyrics, the song was finally done and this is the final version. I am excited with the final outcome and hope you all enjoy it, for I truly enjoyed the process of writing and recording it! :)

My music can best be described by my attempt to try to blend indie-folk & singer/songwriter influences with popular music, blues, neo-soul, and R&B into one. Regardless of the direction(s) my songs take, most of music revolves around the different aspects of life such as relationships, difficult times, etc. I hope that you are able to relate to my music in some way and feel at home!
