The soundtracks were created for films that I have made or considered making.  Like almost all of my other, generally ambient works, they blend digital instrumental notation with altered sound effects to create an evocative and occasionally narrative soundscape.  This was assembled for use in a short film by Rumpus Animation in Bristol and signposts key moments in the story of 'Moby Dick'.

However, 'Starry Sky' is primarily spoken with minimal sound effects with an Almighty tease.

Although they are generally comic, some were bittersweet, like 'Ennui', which explores the relationship between a patient butler and an older, upper-class woman with a failing mind.

FINAL COMFORT

'The Slipping' is a short narrative track with sound effects and music that paints a picture of an old man unravelling and dying into a sweet memory.  Many of us have watched this happen to people we care about, but this track grew out of a report about a search for an old man in the area who had gone missing from a care home.  I told the police that It occurred to me he might have retraced his childhood in the nearby valley.

THE SLIPPING

The slow, deep progress of a flooded river, the drifting, surfacing and submerging of debris, and the faster trickling rhythms of shallow shore water are reflected here.

THE CALLING BACK

As it happens, I have come to know seven auras.  Not THE seven auras, which I hadn't known about until a few hours ago, but my own seven which came to me one by one over a period of about twenty years.  The largest is a shifting green crystalline structure over fifty feet high and the smallest is the size of a round white egg.  They came singly, without my asking, but when I seemed to need them and have comforted, healed, strengthen and guided me quite often.  I don't seek to explain them anymore that I could explain life.  I have lived and they have been in my life.

Just beyond and before the obvious thought and the need reason is the realm of delicate imaginings and whims .... the realm where you too smile like the elfin ...

Reflect.  Who are we?  What do we care about and why?  Reflect on the archetypes that guide us ... reflect on the difference between ethics and morals ... reflect on dispassion and empathy ... reflect on what life seems to be and could be ... reflect the best of that.
