Simona Faraone (@faraonica_underground) is absolutely one of the first women to dedicate herself to the art of DJing. Simona Faraone is avant-garde, cosmic energy, afro futurism. She is the undisputed witness of a sound experience that is not tied to a predefined genre, but that explores in a decisive way the nuances of underground culture. Her delicacy and refinement make her one of the most authoritative figures in electronic music and beyond.

The label @newinterplanetarymelodies perfectly reflects the sense of an experience in which the listener is projected into dimensions and scales that are always different, always new.

ARS SESSIONS #18 :: Simona Faraone

Gigi Galli (@void-a-k-a-gigi-galli)marks the nineteenth episode of ars sessions with a completely new mix, giving space to genres such as hip hop, bass, 2step. Born in 1976, at the age of 13 he began a long musical journey that saw him involved in a series of projects, all different from each other, which determined a borderless research that will be the strength of his career and the sounds he makes available in his long thirty-year career. 
To be mentioned without doubt his works signed Mute8, Kill Traxx, Rovina and Zaraki and the great commitment as resident dj at @ribbonclub in Terracina.

Born Italo-bulgarian, german based broadcaster, radio host and founder of the Ars vision network, Der Pflüger dedicates his voice to mainly to electronic music. 
Among his most important works are the podcast series “Stories and cities", which investigates the revolutionary processes that music has carried out in the cities of the world, and the two specials for Rinse France, a radio show in which he places new talents alongside the iconic names of the electronic scene. 

Always connected to the House music that made Chicago great, he also finds inspiration from the Acid sounds, ambient music and techno from the early Detroit. 

His long stay in Berlin, with its continuous and incessant changes, is the perfect setting for someone who has always had the desire and determination to tell stories that are always fascinating, always evolving.

On November 9, 1989, the wall of Berlin fell and two sides of the city divided for 29 years returned to being free. even before the fall of the wall, music played an important role in urban social architecture.

today's episode explores two ways of experiencing music at two opposite latitudes; the western side where the sound of David Bowie, Kraftwerk and Acid house excelled and the eastern side where the records were bought illegally, whose listening was precluded exclusively within the home.

La storia della musica elettronica a Tokyo va di pari passo con lo sviluppo tecnologico che ha visto il Giappone come una delle più grandi potenze economiche mondiali.
L`invenzione del walkman prima e successivamente l` uscita di strumenti come la TB - 303 o TR - 909 hanno di fatto dato al Giappone una sorta di importanza quasi vitale per la scena elettronica mondiale.

La puntata di Tokyo racconta i primi sviluppi in ambito sonoro del grande Maestro Ryuchi Sakamoto che con gli Yellow Magic orchestra aprí le porte ai primi esperimenti musicali.
Una città in cui si costruisce in verticale, ma si scava in profondità e che rispecchia esattamente 
la proposta musicale dei suoi artisti che possono vantare produzioni anche al di fuori dei confini nipponici. Incredibilmente interessante anche la scena attuale, formata da artisti di indubbia capacità.

Francoforte è una città dalla doppia personalità; di giorno centro propulsore per quel che concerne il business e crocevia di grandi snodi commerciali, di notte invece terreno fertile per gli amanti del club, con una varietà di locali come il Dorian Gray, l` Omen o il Tanzhaus west che proponevano generi musicali ancora poco compresi nel resto della Germania.

Francoforte è la città che ha dovuto vivere sempre un certo dualismo con Berlino ma che si è saputa contraddistinguere dalla capitale grazie ad una corrente musicale versatile che comprendeva generi di assoluto valore come la new beat, la EBM, l` industrial e la techno.
La puntata di questo mese racconta lo sviluppo della scena club sotto un altro punto di vista, dove L`esplosione del genere techno ha vissuto varie e decisive fasi musicali.

La cittadina del South Yorkshire è la protagonista di questo episodio che a inizio anni 80 ha vissuto una vera e propria rivoluzione musicale. 
Conosciuta come la città dell’acciaio, dovuta alla grande presenza dell’industria siderurgica come indotto principale, ha il grande merito di aver avuto una scena musicale tra le più coese al mondo. 
Sheffield; città anti conformista, anti modaiola e anti borghese, ha visto nascere generi come il bleep sound e che ha stravolto completamente il concetto di musica techno indirizzandola su frequenze diverse dai soliti archetipi di fruizione.

STORIES & CITIES - SHEFFIELD

La puntata dedicata a Firenze affronta un viaggio assurdo che si muove su due versanti diametralmente opposti; si parte dai gloriosi anni fatti di sperimentazione musicale che concentrava una miriade di generi tipici del sound britannico fino a raggiungere i territori oscuri della musica techno e progressive che misero la firma ad un decennio in cui il concetto di divertimento fu portato oltre ogni limite. 

Sono gli anni in cui l`Italia, grazie alla scena fiorentina, ha potuto dire la sua in tema new wave dove gruppi come i Neon, i Diaframma, i Kirlian Camera, i Pankow e i Litfiba dettero vita ad un movimento senza eguali. 
Sono anche gli anni in cui la cultura underground vive un momento di stratosferico interesse. Sono gli anni 90 della progressive, di club leggendari come il Jaiss, l`Imperiale e il Tenax e sono gli anni di una cultura clubbing di incredibile proposta con Alexander Robotnik e la Interactive Test Records a fare da ponte tra i due generi. 

Un racconto che racchiude in un`ora l`essenza fondamentale di una città come Firenze che ci ha lasciato in eredità un patrimonio musicale di inestimabile valore.

STORIES & CITIES - FIRENZE

Colonia è una città dalla proposta culturale davvero importante. Tra le città della musica in Germania, questa è forse quella dall`animo più dirompente ma tuttavia presa poco in considerazione.
 
In questa città, negli anni 50 Karlheinz Stockhausen scopriva la meraviglia della sperimentazione elettronica, venti anni dopo avrebbe goduto del grande successo del Krautrock e negli anni 90 avrebbe ospitato un manipolo di persone che dettero un contributo preziosissimo alla scena techno, su tutti gli Air Liquide. 

Gli anni anni 90 sono il periodo chiave per personaggi come Mike Inc, Jurgen Paape e Michael Mayer che diventeranno protagonisti di una scena che ha mantiene ancora intatto il suo spirito Underground.

SHORT STORIES - COLONIA

La Scandinavia affascina per le sue sonorità così conformi alle sue latitudini. In Svezia per esempio la musica techno ha di fatto creato un movimento che nello scenario musicale ha potuto imporsi in modo efficace. In Finlandia le frange contorte e oscure del minimalismo hanno inciso parecchio nelle architetture sonore del paese. La Norvegia invece ha essenzialmente rappresentato il sound più puro e intimo della musica elettronica, in un viaggio continuo tra sonorità che scorrono fluide e decise. 
Infine l`Islanda dai suoni delineati dall`estro sopraffino di una delle più grandi artiste del suono pop elettronico ossia Björk, mente folle capace di creare nuove formule di pop, in contrasto tra suoni decisi techno e avanguardia spregiudicata.

NORTH STORIES - SCANDINAVIA

Napoli è la città dai mille volti, dal sentimento identitario che si palesa vivacemente. Napoli è questa; un turbine di grandi energie che nella musica ha trovato il modo di farsi spazio nel mondo. La trama di sviluppa durante il decennio 70-80 ossia come uno dei già creativi e originali che l`Italia potesse avere il privilegio di vivere ed ascoltare. 

In questa puntata affrontiamo e approfondiamo il periodo antecedente allo sviluppo della scena clubbing napoletana. Cerchiamo di comprendere le radici di un luogo dai molteplici significati attraverso una testimonianza musicale che di fatto ha ispirato tutte le generazioni a venire. Proviamo a capire quindi che tipologia di intrattenimento vigeva a Napoli ponendo al centro i protagonisti che hanno inventato nuovi suoni e nuovi modi di diffondere la musica, qualsiasi essa fosse.

SOUTH STORIES - NAPOLI

L`ultima puntata di Stories and Cities fa tappa a Roma, in un periodo di importante transizione politica ed economica. Dalla fine degli anni '70 ai primi anni '80 'esplode' la disco e nella capitale aprono locali leggendari come il Much More, l'Histeria, il Gilda e i primi dedicati ad un pubblico gay, come l'Easy Going. 
L`ultima puntata di Stories and Cities rende omaggio ad uno dei DJ, remixer e compositori più apprezzati di sempre; Marco Trani. 

Successivamente all`epopea d`oro della disco, una rivoluzione culturale ed estetica era pronta a travolgere Roma. I ragazzi terribili e Devotion, mettono in atto qualcosa di mai visto a Roma capaci di includere diversità musicali ed estetiche apparentemente inconciliabili.

When Hardwax opened its doors in 1989 on a ground floor in Kreuzberg, Berlin was faced with a historical and social change that would reshape its destiny. 

Hardwax opens in a new and unique scenario of desolate streets, basements transformed into a fundamental place for the youth of the time and many abandoned sheds. 
Also unique is this path of research that Giosuè Impellizzeri has carried out, finding this chart dated 1997 and published by the authoritative magazine "Raveline".

Ars vision with the necessary translations and adaptations transforms once again into audio format, yet another report extracted from Decadance.

With a 40-year career behind him, DJ Ralf certainly needs no introduction. For this new appointment with Inside the charts, Giosuè Impellizzeri recovers a top ten of his February 1998, carefully analyzing its contents and together with the project A.R.S. Vision transforms in audio format the article published for Decadance. 

Inside, we find house music of valuable workmanship signed, among others, by Joe Montana, Da Mob, Native Soul and D. Funk Era. For the first episode of ARS SESSIONS we are happy to introduce @izzydemzky-1, a British dj producer based in Berlin. 

For ARS SESSIONS he has prepared a set that privileges the most hidden sounds of electronic music, with forays into multi-ethnic territories hovering between funky sounds and rhythmic grooves.

ARS SESSIONS #1 :: Blind to the groove by Izzy Demzky

Listener, researcher, collector, lover. This is how we can describe @gianluca-fusari. A person with an eclectic musical soul and versatile research. 

Present on Soundcloud, Mixcloud and Ihearthis with the well known series called "Logical nonsense", Gianluca Fusari also hosted an interesting Radio show for the Florence based Radio Amble dedicating space to ambient music and sounds but at the same time close to the clubbing beats.

For Ars sessions he offers yet another deep research work, this time dedicated to the underwater world of MTV in the early 90s where the network used to give space to alternative sounds with tv shows that have gone down in history as MTV party zone.

ARS SESSIONS #2 :: MTV party zone hosted by Gianluca Fusari

@akkaelle takes control of the third episode of Ars sessions in a journey outlined mainly by the pure sound of electro music. Sixty minutes of futuristic introspection, marked by a powerful and decisive sound in contrast with acid shades, techno beats alternating with rhythmic breaks.

The Italian duo @thisisanywave are the protagonists of the fourth episode of this series with a playful, powerful and emotional drive under the name Ajo ojo and chilly acid.

Since 1983 active as a researcher of new sounds and new musical languages, he plays a decisive role in the movement that will determine forever "The Sound of Rome".

ARS SESSIONS #8 :: Mauro Vecchi

@stefanorocchi mixed this set last summer in what can only be described as a paradoxical situation. Loudspeakers on and no dancing allowed. The ninth episode shows part of the set recorded by our artist at the Ex Cartiera in Rome. It's true that in the middle of a pandemic you can't dance, but within the walls of our homes anything is possible.
