Sunset session, mixed live in Mykonos. What a beautiful island on earth, and an ideal setting for music of all genres, however I played a somewhat funkier upbeat set, inspired by the good times I had this year at this special place.

2021 was a tough one and due to the circumstances, it hasn't been a productive year when it comes to mixtapes or live performances. But now it’s time for the final release of the year, and like in the previous years, every track on this year’s SVGR mixtapes has been listened through, and 13 tracks made it to this year's final mixtape.

The selection might not be the greatest hits of the year, and some might not even be a 2021 release or a crowd-pleaser at all - but these tracks have created the most joy, dancing, and singing among the SVGR fans, friends, and family... and they all appeared on an SVGR mixtape in 2021.

Thanks for all the support, plays, likes, and comments in 2021. Stay safe in 2022, and remember that great music cures and conquers all.

Feeling Good V3 Jan - Mar 2022

Florent Denecker aka FDVM started his career in 2013 by sharing his first edits and originals on the Soundcloud platform. With a resolutely modern and avant-garde vision of deep house, he quickly acquired a solid reputation and offered himself his first collaborations, notably with the duo Ofenbach.

As the months went by, the craze around the project kept growing and the artist surrounded himself with a booker who allowed him to play his first dates in the biggest Parisian clubs. The artist makes his DJ sets a truly magical moment.

In 2017, his career took a new turn with the release of his single "Make It Right". A track that immediately seduced radio stations, including Virgin Radio, which took him on its ElectroShock tour. FDVM went on to perform at major international venues such as Tomorrowland and Coachella.

While his meteoric rise attracted the interest of major record companies such as Sony Music, FDVM approached the 2.0 labels Soave Records and Adue music in 2019. He signed prestigious collaborations with Henri PFR, or more recently with the artist with the famous hoarse voice Broken Back. With no less than 150 million streams, including 20 million in 2021, FDVM inevitably retains his place as one of the leading artists on the electronic scene.

Welcome to the sixth edition of my Swipe Right to Funk mixseries. The rise of funk in the late 1960s and early 1970s was a direct response to the Civil Rights movement and represented black musicians being unapologetically black. As Prince said when he inducted Parliament into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, "funk is the force that tore the roof off the sucker that is modern music." As we all take action to further the Black Lives Matter movement, it's important to understand where our music comes from. ALL music is directly descended from black music.

SVGR is short for 'Svoger' which means 'Brother-in-law' in Danish and is pronounced [Swåger]. I love to create mixtapes, to keep track and secondly to share the work of rare musicians with my followers, as an artistic expression and not to support piracy, but to promote new music through my selected tracks in mixed and fixed expressions. Live I'm one half of DJ Svoger and SVGR is my soloproject. 

SVGR is a private initiative with no commercial strings attached, and the music is mostly distributed via Soundcloud.
