"Blackbird" – A Song of Resilience in Troubled Times 🎶🕊️

Here’s my acoustic take on The Beatles’ classic "Blackbird"—a song that has always symbolized hope, resistance, and the fight for justice. Originally written by Paul McCartney in 1968 as a tribute to the Civil Rights Movement, the "blackbird" metaphor spoke to the struggle of Black Americans fighting for equality. But its meaning stretches far beyond that moment in history.

Today, the song feels just as relevant as ever. In the wake of Donald Trump’s election and his relentless assault on democratic norms, we are witnessing another battle for the soul of our nation. His blatant disregard for the constitutional balance of power, his attempts to undermine institutions, and his gutting of hard-fought protections have thrown our democracy into turmoil. And yet, like the blackbird in the dead of night, we rise, we fight, and we find our wings.

Music has always been a force for change, and I hope this cover serves as a small reminder that light will always break through the darkness. Let me know what you think. 💛
