Free Static is a Eugene-based duo featuring Chris Ruiz and Courtney Stubbert. Often referring to their own sound as "rural industrial", their improvisational approach blends tape loops, samples and modular synthesizers, and builds on their past experiences playing in jazz, punk and metal bands. They are either organizing the chaos, or ruining the organization.
