Heard this song on the radio for the umpteenth time and thought it'd rock up quite nicely. First time in a while I've recorded anything so was nice to get back into it. This is one mix of it, I have another that I like where the drums are dropped a few dBs but this was the original.

I played live for the first time in years earlier this year. Had planned to put this to tape earlier but my laptop died! Intend to upload all but this was one of the covers I enjoyed learning most!

I Wanna Be Like You (The Jungle Book)

My girlfriend asked me to cover this song. After numerous "slight disagreements" over the best N*Sync song (It's Gonna Be Me OBVIOUSLY), I agreed to do it. Unfortunately, this is one of the last songs I was able to record before my laptop died (for a second time) so it's not really been mixed or edited (as you'll hear from some of the vocal timings being off and the drums could do with some work but hey ho).

Bye Bye Bye - N*Sync

I wrote this song back in 2007. I used to hang out on this forum for a show I used to watch and got to know a few people over there - one of which was told she had 6 months to live and she was younger than I was at that point (I would have been 17).

It was my first time experiencing someone I (barely) knew going through that sort of thing at such a young age. She recovered, I'm happy to report, but the song is a reminder for me of a time when I used to write a lot more (and arguably better stuff) than I do today. It was probably the happiest I'd been with a solo when I really got serious into songwriting.

I recorded a version of it back then but my voice sucked on it and I lost the original recording due to my laptop dying (you'll notice a theme with my recordings...). The song felt like it had become relevant to me again recently so I had the time and re-recorded it, adding a few bits and pieces but it largely remains untouched since 2007. My nose is pretty bunged up at the moment so the vocals may get replaced if I deem it distracting.

Decided to re-record this track. The original recording was a little slower than I would have liked and while I'm in a recording mood I thought I'd just bite the bullet and do this one from scratch.

I used to write a lot back in the day but these days I don't have as much quality time to dedicate to it which is a shame. For the times I do feel inspired, this is where I'll display my work. Planning to go back and re-record as a few of my recordings are over 10 years old!

I mainly record original tracks but I like to do a few covers just to keep things ticking over and have fun. It'll largely be pop songs rocked up or Disney songs because life's too short to try to be cool!
