“Techno Teaches” is a hybrid of melancholic technopop, progressive house, and deep house, built for long drives. Rolling sub bass and steady four to the floor percussion hold a glassy synth palette that swells in patient waves. Filter blooms and subtle arpeggios create forward motion without hurry, letting small details carry weight while the groove stays locked.

The vocal feels intimate and half spoken, a mantra that counts you into presence. Warehouse air, red exits, language melting into pulse. Repetition becomes focus: no past, no pose, just the beat and the breath. Hooks arrive as simple phrases that sit inside the rhythm until they feel inevitable.

There is also a clear nod to expansive soundscapes and long arc song architecture inspired by Pink Floyd. The uber-talented Romanian DJ and producer Mihai Popovicu is considered one of the most innovative eastern European producers of electronic music today and finally returns to Poker Flat Recordings once again. 

Continuing his rich vein of form into 2019, the Understand EP drops soon after his collaboration with James Dexter, and once again shows why he's well worth getting excited about. 

First up on this release is 'Inside Me', which underlines Popoviciu's perfect understanding of how to create rich and thick grooves from a minimum of sources. The track bumps and rolls, helped along by a deep, evolving bass lead that will undoubtedly get rinsed all over the summer. 

Similarly, 'Understand' keeps the vibe - a heavy tech house hitter with some classic feeling stabs and nice vocal snippets.
