From the archives, I wrote One Trick Pony in 2005, at the hight of "more bell sounds, please." While lacking in polish and the mixing being a little weird, it has a pleasant unfolding, but the ending is my favorite part.

One Trick Pony (2005)

A flood of percussive sounds raging around some shifting textural pads. You might note the distant and muted kick drum, I was pulling deeply from my orchestral training and wasn't quite ready to commit to making my music fully rock yet.

This track was initially in a small mini-EP called O/V/T. The other two tracks Velcro Steamroller and Tango Heaven, made it onto my 2010 album Ten Directions (which I released under my own name). O Driving didn't suit the mood, so it got left out.

O Driving (2005)

Left Hand Rule is an homage to one of my favorite and most formative albums the 1995 Ambient Systems on Instinct Ambient label. Do yourself a favor, listen to it. I picked this up while studying in Vienna and practically wore my discman out on the second disc. There’s an incredible floaty feeling about the music, and there are moments where the drums kick in, formed from the stuff out of the dreamy pads, like the big bang. How could a beat not spontaneously form?

Left Hand Rule (2006)

An etude focusing on increasing tempo, slow textural build, and looping elements of different lengths. Ryuichi Sakamoto meets Underworld.
