Halfway the nineties this was a worldwide hit; I don’t think many people realised what it was actually about - the trauma’s of war, specifically “The Troubles”, the Northern Irish war and civil war, that was still ongoing at that time. Many people (including myself) just belted along with the chorus, which in this case is a word to describe someone who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder from too many explosions, gunfire… zombie.
