Last decade of January 2012 is the initial starting point for Intricate Records, a new label grounded by four talented Russian producers: PROFF, Sergey Tkachev, Vadim Soloviev and Alexey Sonar. The very first single of the newborn imprint is «Flying Spirals» including the original version of a track collectively written by Sergey Tkachev and Alexey Sonar and a remix made by Matao, a producer from the city of Astrakhan.

The idea to create a common track was born on Alexey’s birthday. Sergey showed a rough draft, which guys suggested to complete together. The final result of these collective efforts is an authentic chronicle of a musical flight. The first part describes the firing of some flying machine, takes the listeners skyward high while mantling them with smooth motives of progressive and precisely strong beat, gradually developing the main theme directed to more trance-alike sounds. The second part takes the audience even higher over the horizon and literary makes it fly in the skies surrounded by the cosmic melody and the same precisely strong beat, slowly returning everyone back to Earth by the end of the track.

The remix by Marat Dzhumanjazov, better known on the club scene under the alias Matao and previous works released on Nueva Digital, Terminal4, Silk and Macarize, by contrast, significantly diminishes the energetic rush of the original version and gives priority to smooth and magical temper, which will be far more suitable for the home atmosphere rather than for the dancefloor. «It has been a great pleasure and a great honour to remix «Flying Spirals», – Marat confesses. – Furthermore, I am a fan of what Sergey Tkachev and Alexey Sonar have been doing for years. Doubtless, the original version of this track written by my favorite producers will move and shake a score of dancefloors!»

The debut single «Flying Spirals» will be released on Intricate Records on February 6, 2012. It will be available for public on Beatport.

Light and rousing sound of «Chasin Joe» returns the romanticism of the 70-s and 80-s into the present times. Despite the fact that the single is being released in the winter, it sheds exceptionally warm and sunny feeling. The melody is emphasized with the bass line and distinct rhythm, adding soft and hypnotic atmosphere into the track. It is amplified by the sounds of marimba and cosmic pads intermingled with sustained breakdowns and retro-styled drum rolls.

Feu d’Or managed to come to an agreement on a remix by Jody Wisternoff during their very first personal meeting. As soon as the highly titled Briton heard the original version of “Chasin Joe”, he immediately took choice – to let the remix be! Jody added aeriality and dancefloor- friendling to the original mix, as well as some kind of guitar strings plunks and loads of chattering and snapping sounds along with highly unexpected tones. Vocal samples provided that particular charm to the remix which creates an illusion of a pursuit of fictional and elusive Joe whose name is in the single title. The track became more energetic but, at the same time, kept its melodiousness, turning any club where it is being played into Ibiza-style disco.

The man behind a la French alias Feu d’Or is the Russian producer Fyodor Yaminsky. His biography is yet not that full of remarkable facts, but the first career steps in electronic dance music already caught attention of some big names in the industry. Fyodor already gained their support of his track «Singapore» released last summer and was well received by the community of progressive fans. The name of Jody Wisternoff needs no further introduction – he is half of the legendary duo Way Out West and Feu d’Or’s long-awaited track was awarded specifically Jody’s remix.

The second single of Intricate Records catalogue, «Chasin Joe» by Feu d’Or, will be released on March 12, 2012. It will be available for public on Beatport.

Focussing on an increasingly deep house-centred style, German producer Martin Roth returns to Anjunadeep with appropriately titled "Beautiful Life" and the sultry "Make Love To Me Baby". 

Clearly containing some of the DNA from Martin's previous outing "Deep Style", "Beautiful Life" is laced with languid, downtuned grooves and layers moody interludes, softly echoing vocal fades and some gorgeous swathes of synth to conjure an edgy deep house number. 

Offering a more sunny contrast, the sultry and seductive sounds of "Make Love To Me Baby" blend chilled out grooves with a late-night soulful feel and some classic, understated piano house keys.

In this edition, we have handpicked new tracks from Dezza, Mcvinski, Eskai, Alex Pich, Lessov, Skyline Drive, Allay, and Astroleaf to complement your summer travel experiences, from scenic drives to revitalizing trips to the beach.

The high-octane "Intro84" by Canadian virtuoso Dezza, whose 2018 has been nothing short of extraordinary, kicks off the compilation. Featured already on a pair of episodes of Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy," this stormy number centers on a dynamic groove that is both exhilarating and suspenseful. The climactic main breakdown features a fully actualized, retro-tinged synth theme, backed by cinematic strings. The euphoric drop to follow is an anthem worthy of the 80s cult classic "Tron."

Having made a successful debut on our label with the moody "Perfect Travel" earlier this year, rising Russian talent Mcvinski offers "Sea Wave," another timeless deep-progressive gem. The moody, almost brooding bassline evokes an early evening surfing expedition on rough seas. The patiently crescendoing bassline and warm, often rapturous melodic and vocal layers rise up and, ultimately, overtake the listener with immense emotional force. 

Garnering over 750K streams on Spotify since its 2016 release, Eskai's groovy and poignant "Point Break" has proven to be a fan favorite. Alex Pich, an extraordinary veteran composer from our stable, delivers an equally memorable and emotive interpretation here. A cavernous bassline establishes a deep, subterranean aural vibe, while the surrounding instrumentation, replete with hypnotic arpeggios, crystalline bell-tinged synths, and hauntingly beautiful atmospheric pads, creates a mesmerizing soundscape. 

The return of celebrated musician Lessov is a thrilling moment in its own right: his last appearance on our label (a standout remix of Universal Solution's "Pressure Point") dates back to January 2016. Known for crafting lush, atmospheric deep-progressive music, the Canadian phenom picks up right where he left off, as he contributes the sensual after-hours gem, "Kami," to this release. Gorgeous melodies and swells of sound weave through the forest-like soundscape. This "wilderness" of mellifluous sonic themes continues to build in intensity; suddenly, at the song's midpoint, as the beats completely drop out, an exceedingly relaxing and harmonious theme is introduced, followed by the reappearance of Lessov's captivating mid-summer woodland symphony.

Closing out the release, the dreamy, melancholic "Ocean Boulevard" unites the talents of three gifted veteran contributors: Skyline Drive (US), Allay (NL), and Astroleaf (NO). Drawing inspiration from the burgeoning synthwave movement, Skyline Drive and Allay evoke an 80s summer romance, courtesy of several poignant minor-key synth themes, backed by similarly retro drum rolls and fills. Meanwhile, Astroleaf's wistful vocals drip with sentimentality and heartache. Listeners of a certain generation will welcome the nostalgic feel of this sweet and innocent summer tune.
