Arthur Joseph Trader, known professionally as AWEthentic is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised between White Stone and Richmond, Virginia, AWE initially began expressing himself through poetry in order to cope with the severe depression he’d encounter at a young age.  As the only child of a single mother who was heavily involved in the Pentecostal church, he had a very strict upbringing and was never able to openly communicate the woes and experiences of his adolescence, nor his mental distress, without being misunderstood or bombarded with religion.  Over time, he developed the courage to vocalize his feelings through singing and rapping whenever he was alone due to his family’s opposing stance, and later on began auditioning for talent shows and recording songs for which he received much praise and admiration with his engaging tone and poignant way with words.  His pursuit to create and tell his story took him through a wide range of hardships, from homelessness to near death experiences, but with the official release of his sultry Hip-Hop/R&B single, LOVE IS GONE (2020), he’s established himself as a multitalented force in the industry deserving of recognition, as well as a strong testament that true purpose and passion can hardly be extinguished, even without the support of those around you. This is the beginning of a much deeper and inspiring story of perseverance from a man who never let go. Stay tuned...
