The series follows Fred, from the start of the war, his memories of joining the British army, his personal account of the Blitz, fighting in the Battle Of Britain, leaving the British isles, travelling the world, being captured in Battipaglia, life as a prisoner of war and his own account of the end of the war and coming home to his wife and child and celebrating VE Day. In this episode, we follow Fred during his army training and find out what it was like experiencing the Blitz.
