Alex is a Lithuanian DJ and a passionate digger! This time he has prepared a unique mix which opens up his eclectic nature. „While sharing the mix, I thought about how quickly everything in the world is changing. About the fact that there is nothing permanent. Also in music. In each of my selections, I try to include as many genres as possible and remain as eclectic as possible. Show more to the listener in one hour, but stick to one line. Sometimes I overdo it. This time was no exception. The first version contains hip hop, more ambient. But while searching, I felt that many things do not sound together. The second attempt at your trial, the gray sky of Vilnius, the sun peeking out from the corner, wet asphalt and the smell of smoke.” – says Alex.

To pass the atmosphere of the mix we’ve created an analogue cover made from epoxy resin.

My debut EP on AM Records is a collection of stories, written or re-written. It is the result of many creative minds, from different times and lands, meeting each other on a 12 inch memorabilia.

I'd like to share an excerpt from the record insert, my tools of choice and credits to the people that made it happen.

"Embedded in the Romanian folklore, many pre-Christian traditions have survived in various forms, from stories to songs and dances. They remain part of elaborate celebrations and rituals for specific times of the year or at the most important life events: birth, wedding and funeral. As these rituals are strongly related to the manifestations of social life, various characters have been born, taking specific roles in celebrating humans ephemeral existence in the world. The character depicted on the cover is called "capra", "țurca" or "brezaia", according to the region, and is a symbol of re-birth and fertility. It appears in celebrations related to the winter solstice where groups of people, wearing colorful masks and costumes, perform various rituals involving dancing, playing instruments, singing and reciting.

The costume's head is built to resemble a stag (often with real horns) and has a snout made of two wooden blocks. The lower part of the "jaw" is articulated and is hit against the upper jaw by the person wearing the costume with the use of a rope. The strong wooden claps, often doubled by loud drums, sustain the rhythm of the dance. The costume's cover is made from loomed carpets covered with colorful paper or fabric stripes. It conceals the body of the person wielding it and creates a sound texture of continuous rustle. Additionally, bells or other items may adorn the costume and add more sound, rhythm and texture to the already intense and loud performance."
