Following on from the huge success of Compute Riddim w/ Killa P & Badness we had to get 9TRANE back on board for 1FGRM002 with his newest track for us entitled ‘Assault’ which came out March 5th and was supported by Toddla T on BBC Radio 1. Appletize is the follow up single from this release as a free download. Initially a dub for the 140 maestro's sets, the reaction the bootleg of this UK Funky classic had was huge so we thought we should give it away for the masses to enjoy. Yet more support coming from Toddla T (BBC Radio 1) as well as Marcus Nasty (Rinse FM), Travis T (Radar Radio), Benteki (Reprezent) & Shapes to name a few.

Since his last release with us in June 2017 he’s continued to supply DJ’s with the heat with further plays across Radar Radio, BBC 1Xtra & Reprezent Radio. The Norwich producer has also had another release entitled ‘Skeleton’ on the south coast’s critically acclaimed Southpoint. Having performed at one of the largest underground festivals of 2017, ‘Trajections Festival’ (Bristol) he heated up the dance for the likes of Jammz, Big Zuu & Jack Dat which lead to further bookings back home alongside Champion & Murlo. He also joined us for the 1st time in Leeds at our takeover for UP4 at Mint Warehouse in November.

The start of 2018 see’s 9TRANE back in the 1Forty realms despite discovering his love for UK Funky which you may see an original release of from him on the Label later this year..

With 2018 drawing to a close, over the last year, Articulate as a brand have moved through the chapters and cemented itself in the UK Funky and Bass scene. Without doubt the most established name to be part of the ‘4 Weeks Of 1Forty’ release but due to taking time out in the last 12 months the Brighton producer felt a 1Forty release was a great way to crash back into action. That being said he makes his return with his first ever UK Funky track entitled ‘Scorpion’.

Pavv’s profile isn’t shy of an accolade or 5. With a decade of production experience under his belt his Releases across the likes of Southpoint, Audiophile XXL & Yosh have been supported by DJ Q, Flava D, DJ EZ, Notion, Holy Goof, Skepsis and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

With his tracks being a regular feature across A Lister’s sets it elevated him to numerous headline & support bookings across the UK at venues such as Ministry Of Sound, o2 Academy Sheffield and some of the countries biggest events including Bassfest, Supercharged and even King Originals. This has seen him perform on the biggest stages down to the intimate booths with Shy FX, Kurupt FM, Novelist and My Nu Leng just to name a few. 2019 see’s Pavv continue where he left off 12 months ago but this time bringing more variation to the table through Funky, Grime & Garage alike.

Bristol is and always will be an absolute hot-bed for creativity and evolution within electronic music. The city has always been proud of it's deep musical roots and we are still seeing new stalks and stems flourishing to this day. The range of different labels and artists that have been able to build up loyal fan-bases from their home city is honestly quite outstanding, and always leads to more creativity, especially when we apply it to bass music.

As a label, we feel that Durkle Disco really are one of the leading forces in UK bass music across the board, with their release schedule constantly evolving and moving forward with new themes, constantly skipping a step ahead of the pace the rest of the UK decides to move forward at. Their recent run of releases across the breadth of 2019 has been incredibly impressive, from Logan & Kouslin's super popular funky roller: 'Bad', to the high energy link up of Boa Kusasa & Redders on the lively 'BTTF'.

The next in the their exciting run of releases comes to us from none other than the legendary Riko Dan, who joins forces with the super exciting production skillset Fonzo to deliver one heck of an original entitled 'Bushmaster'. From Fonzo's intensely rhythmic drum slaps to Riko Dan's legendary vocal prowess, this one perfectly summarizes just how much energy you can pack into an original UK funky recording, and it's perfect for adding that touch of spice to any set you touch down on.

We feel this is a perfect way for the Durkle Disco team to round off what has been a very impressive year, dripping with consistency and originality from start to finish. We feel if more labels were to follow Durkle's approach, we could be in for a truly golden generation of bass music here in the UK.

Fonzo & Riko Dan - Bushmaster [3000 Blog Premiere]

The first of two new enlisted artists for this EP comes in the form of PZP. The 24 year old based in Manchester has been promoting and DJing since 2014, some of whom may remember the Deep Fried brand at it’s infamous home Antwerp Mansion before its closure having welcomed the likes of Crucast favourites Notion, Darkzy & TS7 on their come ups as well as partnering up with one of the UK’s biggest promoters Worried About Henry on a number of occasions. This led him to becoming one of the hottest resident prospects in Manchester heating up the dance for the likes of Holy Goof, Flava D, DJ Q, Skepsis, Chris Lorenzo, Conducta & loads more at venues all over the city including The Warehouse Project & Manchester Academy.

Taking up producing in 2016 PZP’s focus has veered towards himself as an artist over the last couple of years and with his strong connection already established with Crucast after playing their stage at Outlook in 2018 and various takeovers around Manchester he released with the front runners of Bassline twice in 2019. Since then he has enjoyed making a multitude of UK Funky and UKG delivering his debut EP earlier this year on Strictly House & Garage setting him up to deliver his first official UK Funky release ‘Undergrowth’.

Articulate Sound are a midlands based, digital label that are at the forefront of the UK underground bass scene. Set out to give undiscovered, upcoming artists a platform and foundation to showcase their talent, and to look for individual styles and sounds you won’t hear anywhere else. Articulate specialise in UK Bass, UK Funky and Breaks however covering all spectrums of the scene, from Bassline to Grime they have it covered.

Founded in 2015 as a promotional Soundcloud channel, they then went on to release a succession of free compilations, featuring artists from all over the world such as Landis LaPace and Cellardore to name a few. In the closing months of 2016, they then took it a step further and released a huge joint collaboration with renowned promoter, distributor and publisher Pack London. Although only being a free channel, Articulate Sounds releases have received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse, Represent and Radar amongst many others.

Along with releasing over 140 tracks for over 70 different artists, Articulate Sound have now also launched their own events, showcasing their extensive roster and some of the best upcoming artists in the underground scene, with TC4, Darkzy and Murder He Wrote headlining thus far.

In 2017, Articulate grew even stronger, hitting number 1 in the UKG and Breakbeat charts with their debut official release by Daze Prism, receiving support from the likes of My Nu Leng, DJ EJ and many others and even getting called “one of the most consistent curator channels in modern broken and bass music” by Juno Download. Articulate then went onto hit number 1 again for Doc Zee’s debut release “Feel Free”, which has since been featured in the likes of DJMag and Dummy. Finishing off 2017 Articulate released their final EP of the year titled “PINK GUN” by Ivo and went onto be called “One of our standout labels of 2017 for a top draw project” by Juno Download themselves. 2018 has been no calmer for Articulate, already releasing Spectrum’s debut single “Resonate” in January aswell as having releases lined up for the next 12 months that are sure to cook up a storm, it’s fair to say Articulate are not a label to sleep on.
