After 3 years of preparation and work we are immensely proud and excited to bring you "Articulate Records".

With acclaimed releases on the likes of world renowned Punks Music, Broken Syndicate and Project all out to name but a few. What better way to kick it off than bring none other than our homegrown hero "Daze Prism" on board with us for an atmospheric, deep and dark masterpiece of an EP.

The lead track 'Tektonix' delves straight to the depths with a dark sense of paranoia, skippy breakbeats and influences taken from the deeper side of dubstep and jungle with a dubby low-end sub pulsing right through.

Temptations starts in a different direction with theatrical pads, dreamy arpeggios and vocal chops in the buildup before stepping it up a gear and turning into a gritty bass driven breakbeat roller. Bass Face ready.

With recent releases on Saucy Records, Blacklisted and Children of the Flower 'Affiliate' are "the new kids on the block" with a big future. Once again incorporating their Neuro and UK Bass influenced sounds with UK funky percussion to make a smooth but dark and epic fusion of the lead track. Second drop business.

Doctor Nick is a name who is beginning to shine through the crowd, with releases on renowned labels such as Slime, New Movement, Hot Cakes Bass and In:Flux to name a few, his remix of 'Tektonix' shows exactly why that's the case. Showcasing big breakbeats, dark bass sounds, reverby vocal stabs and intricate percussion elements this one is a must play for any club system.

The high calibre names and remixes don't stop there with Sammy Virji stepping up and putting a completely different spin on 'Temptations'. After receiving a huge amount of attention from previous Chip Butty Records releases showcasing some serious bassline and 4x4 his remix demonstrates a different side to his production, powered by Garagey vocal chops and combined with fast paced percussion, Sammy's take is a truly undefined sound.

Following on from the success of Articulate’s debut EP staying at #1 in both the UK Garage and the Breakbeat chart on Juno for two weeks, and also being named “One of the most consistent curator channels in modern broken and bass music” by Juno Download themselves, Articulate take a step further with the release of a brand new EP by a new name to the Bass world in ‘Doc Zee’. His debut EP comprises of three different original flavours and three remixes from the likes of Midnight Phulin’s 808 driven anthem, Rho’s melodic masterpiece and Hutchinson's club ready stomper.

The lead track “Feel Free” begins with elegant, dreamy vocals complemented by UK Funky beats and pulsating subs before turning over to the dark side and switching it up with deep reeses.

Continuing on from hitting #1 in the UK Garage chart on Articulates first two releases, Ivo steps up to the plate to deliver an EP capable of exceeding anything. Beginning 2017 and releasing his debut EP “Flat 32” with Future Follower Records, premiered by the likes of Fat Kid on Fire and Keep Deep, Ivo showed what he was capable of to critical acclaim. This time, Ivo goes spine tingling, dark breakbeat mode on us with three original tracks that’ll take you on a twisted, musical journey.

"West12" sets the tone with atmospheric pads, skippy percussion and horns reminiscent of a nuclear holocaust.

The lead track "PINK GUN" takes on a different approach delivering huge amounts of space with trippy vocals, haunting pads, verby hits and influences from pretty much every bass genre you can think of.

Next up on the sadistic, distorted journey is “30003”. Again, showcasing a dark, deep sense of paranoia straight out of War of the Worlds before perfectly layering up to a weighty, jungle influenced broken beat roller complemented by an aggressive warping bass.

Fresh on the back of doing a “Sound of:” mix for Ministry of Sound, the Bass=Win alumni Future Wildstyle flip “PINK GUN” for a new one with skippy hats, old school breakbeats and enough bass that’ll test any soundsystem out there.

For an Articulate first, Katch gets on board with his usual well developed signature deep but aggressive dubstep style and impeccable production. His take on “PINK GUN” brings a bulky off-beat kick, industrial percussion and hallucinatory effects and hits to create enough space to even convert the flat earthers.

Back once again with Articulate, almost 2 years on from his first ever release with the brand and more recently his critically-acclaimed EP “Tektonix”, Daze Prism is back with his phenomenal single and remix package “2005”. With his extensive and hugely desirable sound design and musicality on display for all to see, there are not many in the scene that can intwine quality with quantity, something Daze epitomises. His latest installment “2005” encompasses a refreshing and inventive original and VIP of the title track along with 3 diverse remixes spanning the likes of Breakbeat, UK Funky and UK Bass from names new and old.

The title and lead track “2005”, simply put, is the quintessence of bass music. Subtle reeses and skippy breaks and hats get the track moving before a summery, feel-good hook to die for joins in to fit perfectly into the arrangement before dropping the bomb on us with huge trance-esque reeses, skitty hats, spaced out vocals, impeccable riffs and chord progressions and a hugely appreciable, flowing melodiousness.

Daze Prism - 2005 [Out Now]

“Ricin”, a name who has graced such labels as Saucy Records, Broken and Bear Fresh over the years, and who has received critical acclaim from the likes of DJMag, returns to Articulate almost exactly 2 years on from his debut with the brand. This time bringing his impeccable, unparalleled sound design and distinctive sci-fi esque characteristics to the table with 3 original tracks, all dark, mysterious and raucous as would be expected from someone of his production calibre. Imagine entwining Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch’s Blade Runner 2049 film score with Koan Sound and 140 breakbeat and you’ll start to paint a picture of what “Ricin” has on offer. Following the 3 originals to turn this EP into even more of a threat, we bring back the Articulate and Bass don “Daze Prism” straight from his 2005 EP, “Negativ” who simply put, need no introduction in the bass genres and last but not least Articulate co-owner “Ali McK” and fellow Articulate prodigy “IYZ” to complete an unsurpassable remix package.

On the back of receiving huge support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and Skream, Articulate Co-owner “Ali McK” and fellow Articulate jewel “IYZ” stray away from their usual UK Funky style and turn “Obelisk” into a dubstep track that makes it sound like it was made for it. Keeping the original feel of the track, Ali and Jonny start dark and atmospheric, giving a sense of paranoia straight out of a James Wan film before moving on to show their bassline and dubstep roots, interchanging between pitched down arpeggios and ample amounts of space and bass, “Ali McK & IYZ” show exactly why they’re rising to prominence at an electrifying rate.

“Tension” takes on a different approach, however still keeping entwined with Nuaura’s sound, feel and characteristics. Dark, War of the Worlds pads and epic crashes start the track off, before implementing military esque march drums like something Leonidas would walk out to in front of the Spartan army. This sets the feel of the composition perfectly, building what the track’s name declares it would do. The drop goes on to really showcase what Nuaura are about, perfectly composited breakbeats, huge synths, skippy percussion and dubby vocals all mould brilliantly into a showcase of how breaks should be done.

Nuaura - Tension [OUT NOW]

Articulate are a midlands based, digital label that are at the forefront of the UK underground bass scene. Set out to give undiscovered, upcoming artists a platform and foundation to showcase their talent, and to look for individual styles and sounds you won’t hear anywhere else.Articulate specialise in UK Bass, UK Funky and Breaks however covering all spectrums of the scene, from Bassline to Grime they have it covered.

Founded in 2015 as a promotional Soundcloud channel, they then went on to release a succession of free compilations, featuring artists from all over the world such as Landis LaPace and Cellardore to name a few. In the closing months of 2016, they then took it a step further and released a huge joint collaboration with renowned promoter, distributor and publisher Pack London. Although only being a free channel, Articulate Sounds releases have received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse, Represent and Radar amongst many others.

Along with releasing over 140 tracks for over 70 different artists, Articulate Sound have now also launched their own events, showcasing their extensive roster and some of the best upcoming artists in the underground scene, with TC4, Darkzy and Murder He Wrote headlining thus far.

In 2017, Articulate have now expanded further continuing the high level of growth they already have. With shows lined up, the release of Articulate Records featuring EP’s from some of the biggest names in the underground Bass scene, Articulate are not a label to sleep on.
