Creating music is sharing feelings with the world. And this simple need to overflow these feelings is responsible for Shadow Movement’s incessant search for new textures and rhythms in dance music.

Rafael Bartel was discovered by Brazilian producer Ale Reis in mid-2014, when Shadow Movement had a surprising reach right on his first release: "I.D.", released by Gui Boratto’s D.O.C. Records, reached the top of the charts and got support from renowned artists such as Maceo Plex, Stephan Bodzin and Solomun, just to name a few. The German Mixmag defined the EP as "a very successful album that leaves you wanting more". After that, the name Shadow Movement became a constant behind acclaimed singles, EPs and also inside DJ cases all over the world.

The project is orchestrated by the brilliant and creative mind of Rafael Bartel. His gigs at remarkable venues such as Hive Club (Zurich), Le Sucre (Lyon), Amsterdam Dance Event (Amsterdam), Tomorrowland Brasil, Warung Beach Club, Carlos Capslock and Boiler Room have transformed the studio wizard into a respected selector. The experience added to his unique approach towards music places Shadow Movement in his firm purpose: to express and communicate with people using music as a universal language.

DVS1 came up as a raver in the Midwest, throwing techno parties for over 20 years and getting up to mischief, often next to huge stacks of speakers that still influence him to this day. He is now well-established as a vital DJ and resident at Berghain and Panorama Bar. 

This mix is something special and a side of DVS1 normally not heard or recorded! A true digger and passionate record collector running the eclectic Mistress Recordings and the more pure techno label HUSH. Here he crosses into house territory for a special dekmantel mix. 

Of the podcast we have here, he says, “This mix is two hours of a four hour rare “house” set recorded LIVE in Sept 2017 at an undisclosed location. I make it a point not to release many mixes and while most people know and follow me for my techno sets, this mix is for those who dig a little deeper and appreciate it all… Enjoy!" There is still a real sense of pace to the mix as it glides effortlessly though flurries of percussion into vocal numbers, cosmic curveballs and piano laced anthems. It’s a fascinating insight into a whole other side of one of techno’s foremost talents.

Brazilian duo Digitaria get set to ‘Shine’ even brighter with a highly anticipated second EP for the one and only Hot Creations. A potent mix of sweetly sensual vocals and dreamy electro pop with a kick for the floor, the ‘Shine’ EP is backed by a pair of exceptional remixes courtesy of cosmic icon Morgan Geist and on-point breakthrough artist of 2012, wAFF.

A-side ‘Shine’ instantly captivates with a wash of soaring synths that accentuate the warm glow of Daniela’s intoxicating voice. Lyrics forming the beating heart of the song along with the melodic bassline groove, this is a record destined to give the crowd that warm fuzzy feeling at a sunrise set. One of NYC’s finest Morgan Geist, aka Storm Queen and one half of Metro Area, bestows his genius in the first ‘Shine’ remix, introducing staccato synths, a pulsing bass beat and later an intense fusion of cosmic chimes, undulating rhythms and popping percussion.

B-side ‘Mystic Flow’ is a more late night affair, building layers of mystical voodoo over the low elastic bassline and punchy textured groove, the vocals imbued with a hypnotic snake charmer quality. Last but by no means least; wAFF’s remix of ‘Shine’ has got something of the Ame classic ‘Rej’ about it. Immersing Daniela’s crystalline vocals in a molten sound bed of psychedelic prog, wAFF knows how to get you tripping.

Digitaria is the project formed by Daniela Caldellas and Daniel Albinati, on the sunny shores of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Seducing Latin America and beyond since

2004 with their blend of romantic electro pop, the duo met Jamie Jones one steamy night in 2012 at Warung nightclub and soon got the Hot Creations boss hooked on their sound. Tracks passed over soon after became the Digitaria/Funkyfat ‘Masochist EP’, a subsequent summer hit, and the rest is history. First release of 2013 was collaboration with the Adana Twins ‘Reaction’ on Jeudi Records, and the Hot Creations ‘Shine EP’ is sure to further mark the duo as a global force of nature.
