You Know... In-Store Session 001 : Sadam (Mojo Radio/Quiet Under None)

In July 2010, I got an invitation to play at a small but neat festival named Folk Ibiza. It was my first visit to the island. I got to spin at a bunch of different locations, such as the Hostal Boutique Salinas, Sunset Ashram, and on the terrace at Space. I returned in September of the following year to play a set on Andy Wilson's show on Ibiza Sonica and a second time at the Hostal. I have not been back to Ibiza since. I recently came across this picture (taken at Cala Compte next to Sunset Ashram), which inspired me to make this mix. I tried to sonically capture the vibe that I felt back then. It includes some bona fide classics such as Ashra "Oasis“, Santana "Aqua Marine," and Jah Wobble & Holger Czukay "Hold On To Your Dreams," as well as tunes by Smith & Mudd, Begin, Quiet Village and more. Arvin Fajar, Jakarta based artist returns to his own label with a single “Animal” featuring Yogyakarta’s finest young gun Kenya which will be a part of the album “Visions Of Silence”. Started out as a jam, Animal is an industrial track with a driving rhythm pattern accompanied by raw enchanting vocals and shouts. Also included the Autobahn Version which features a more heady four on the floor beat.

Arvin Fajar is a Producer / DJ / Engineer who runs a label and parties called Talking Machine. He has several releases on local labels such as Akamady Records, Dekadenz Records and his own label Talking Machine. One of his most notable track is 'In The Shadows' which was released on Ombra International.

Kenya, Yogyakarta's very own timeless music connoisseur. With an experimental background, she has been immersed in rhythmic instruments from the early age which led her to find a new path into DJing and joined the legendary Yogyakarta based collective Energyroom. Now recruited as a part of Talking Machine.

Andy Bainbridge - 25.10.24

Started as a college dorm electronica music project in 2013, Putra Fadhil a.k.a Artificial started his journey with his first release in Cafe Del Mar (Spain) followed by a 5 track EP called 'Solitary State' on Double Deer Records in 2015. 

After a while, he started to hone the craft by appreciating more diverse areas of dance music by not taking his roots for granted and also by being a resident DJ in Jakarta's podcast bar Slits. (www.slits.tv)

The latest release 'Adios Amigos' EP (2018) consisted of 3 tracks tells a story about the journey of self discovery with the outcome of getting out our comfort zone released on Talking Machine (@wearetalkingmachine)
