Enigma EP

"Syncretist" is the second full-length Artifiseer album.

Syncretism, a term describing the combining or unifying of disparate practices, ideas or concepts, is an apt metaphor for the process that birthed this project. It was through not a splitting of differences, but rather a combining and recombining of seemingly disparate sounds and ideas that this album was born. Reconciling the organic with the digital, tradition and theory with homespun experimentation, the delicate with the aggressive... this has given me my truest and most developed representation of my art thus far.

In a sense, this feels like my *true* debut.

Folie à Dieu is the first release of Saint John, New Brunswick-based Moondrip Collective, who aim to promote queer artistry in the Saint John music scene and to highlight queer contributions to East Coast culture. Artifiseer is a New Brunswick Music Award-nominated electronic artist and producer whose album Catalyst has been featured in publications like Grayowl Point. Stellaleona is a vocalist and songwriter who draws from influences that include Neko Case, Beth Gibbons and Toni Halliday. The song was crafted in and inspired by the dark heart of maritime winter; exploring ideas of faith, self-perception and privilege.

Artifiseer is the solo project of Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and engineer, Ian Livingstone.
