Frank Ocean's album gets the Chopped Not Slopped treatment from DJ Slim K of Chopstars.
Frank Ocean's Blonde is a slow and sparse collection of songs, and DJ Slim k has doubled down on those elements of the album with a new Chopped Not Slopped mix. It's a listen that requires patience, but like Blonde itself, a very rewarding one. Fittingly, Slim K has renamed the project PURPL, applying the change of color scheme to Frank's hair on the color. The tracklist has been played with quite a bit, but still feels like a cohesive whole. One of the more interesting changes comes with the readjustment of Frank's originally pitched up vocals on "Nikes." It may not win the album any new fans, but should be a great companion piece for anyone who's found themselves obsessing over the details of the project over the course of 2016.
