Dreaming in Drone

The first layer was created by recording my hurdy gurdy, then processing through a granular synthesiser and slowed/pitched down to draw out the detail in the texture. The gurdy is paired with 2 layers of drones on the Moog Grandmother.

Drone Bathing

A vocal improvisation layered over quad-spatialised Instruo Cs-L and noise. I find that spatial sound brings me back into the space and my into my body. It grounds me and makes things feel more possible. 

The improvisation came from spending time in the studio space with these swirling sounds.

Lament

Layers of vocal and piano hover around grainy Moog drones, pulsing 0-coast rhythms and drums. Timestretched sampled textures weave in and out to create the evolving weather.

In Ceremony DRAFT: Closing Circle

From my live performance at Sonido Polifonico, at Bishop's House on 27th April 2024. This set is part of 'In Ceremony', my work in development inspired by the Shipibo plant medicine ceremonies.

Incorporating field recordings from the rainforest in Costa Rica, this composition takes you deep into the night, evoking the healing atmosphere of the ceremonial maloka.
