Sydney-based breakout artist @willomp3 returns with her next EP, 'watching a memory', exploring themes of connection, nostalgia and solitude across seven tracks on @futureclassic.

‘reverie (start of something)’ kicks off the EP with ambient-leaning soundscapes and dreamy synths, a track that began as a soundtrack as opposed to a song. “The process was to capture a feeling first, and then delve into the structure and arrangement,” Willo explains.

The Artless Pursuit of Excellence is a husband-and-wife art-pop duo from Brisbane, Australia. They are an unusual pairing of skills, consisting of Helen Carrington, a music therapist and classically trained soprano, and Chris Perren, a PhD student in music composition and member of Mr. Maps and Brisbane’s lofly records collective.

Their recordings combine a nerdy love for the musically cerebral with the sonic immediacy of the pop song format, drawing inspiration from artists such as James Blake and Alpine.

They plan to release a single on the Seventh of every month from March 2013, until they run out of energy or songs.
