MTRL (material) is an art project by Lukas Weinlein. Fascinated by immersive audiovisual experiences, he explored the universes that exist, painted in so many different styles of music. This insightful journey shaped his current understanding of music and ultimately led him to the endless possibilities of hypnotic electronic music, inspired by the infinite cosmos and organic voices of nature. Having bonded with a multitude of great artists helped to refine his style and created a sphere of inspiration around him. The permanent exchange of ideas and skills with other artists helped to transform MTRL into a still developing transmedial art project . The name for this specific art project was chosen because of the definition of the word material: "the matter from which a thing is or can be made" - It fits the purpose of the project very good. The aim of MTRL is to create an audiovisual experience from existing or non-existing matter for open-minded brains. Together with Dycide and Polygonia he is one of the minds behind the label IO. His various releases are played by some of the most established artists of the Hypnotic and Deep Techno scene.

ABOUT MEMOS:
A music lover from the start, Serhan Aydemir's musical
journey first began by collecting cassette tapes around his
home city of Istanbul in the late ’80s. By the mid-90s, he
became a radio host.

Over the last 20 years, he channeled all his energy toward
this passion, constantly exploring new music styles.

Today as Memos, the Brooklyn-based DJ/producer
continues to share weekly mixes with fans on Dinamo.fm
by day and manning the decks at some of NYC’s most popular venues
by night.

Being a kid in the ‘80s in an Eastern European city, Serhan
Aydemir had all the tools he needed to transform this field of
interest of his into a versatile skill. As he started to become
more involved in his city's electronic music scene, he
stepped it up by having his own slot on Istanbul's premier electronic
music radio station Dinamo.fm

After moving to New York in 2010, his sound continued to evolve and in 2016 he got the opportunity to mix some Turkish psychedelic tunes for Boiler Room. He released his debut EP on Pipe & Pochet in 2019
and got recognized right away with his track Smarahna, which was remixed by notable artists such as El Mundo & Zazou. After his Smarahna EP, he took part in Inward Records' latest VA with his production Anatolian Ninja, among other artists such as Chambord, Raw Main and Pippi Ciez to name a few.

Welcome to the lost files of Jess Van Ness. Moods for the Moody was actually the first draft of “The Last Breathe” originally recorded in 2020, but the impact of George Floyd changed the course of this release. Devastated, Jess changed almost the entire project based on what he was feeling at the time as a tribute to those that tragically lost their lives at the hands of those that are supposed to be protectors. This recording was filed away and almost forgotten. Unfortunately, the set list has also been lost. 

About Moods for the Moody, it’s a collage of deep dark twisting tracks ranging from progressive, minimal techno, afro, and melodic techno with elements of haunting vocals.

Anybody else prevented from accessing SC servers via VPN?  All of them are blocked for me.  This is the first time it happens to me in six or seven years of almost daily SoundCloud activity.  I use a VPN in SC because when I don't I get horrible delays that show up in many different ways.  The only explanation I have found is that somehow their security/identification system has flagged my IP address and introduced all kinds of speed bumps.  It makes the experience very unpleasant, irritating.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
