Another regular 'artmospheric' contributor brings us back to tripping dance music - Vizar, previously known for his early netlabel works for OffAudio and Antiritmo (2006/2007), loop-based live acts and a digital EP for Render Obedience in 2008.


Last year he made his vinyl debut on Jato Unit Recordings with 'The Time' and a remix by Italian producer Ness. The latter is included in the this live session, presenting one hour of Vizar's newest unreleased stuff. Enjoy!

The news for Mr Henke's upcoming visit bring us a lot of experimental spirit, and it seems like a perfect moment for another idm-oriented session. Once again, a recording from last year's festival, and this one is a dj set from Polygon Ring who is among the most trusted fine noise suppliers around, and a regular Artmospheric contributor.

Here is what he said about the mix:

My main idea was for a proper afternoon soundtrack, groovy and relaxing at the same time. That's why it contains mostly slow and beatless stuff. I also wanted to carefully put together tracks of various genres present at Artmospheric - ambient, noise, glitch, techno, idm, instrumental hip-hop, dubstep. At one point I even thought about adding some electrified metal, but in the end did not dare to do it. :)
     
There is no special sequence of the tracks, i just tried to create the right flow to best fit the situation. I hope it worked out well.
     
The mix contains tracks from the likes of Machinefabriek, Old Apparatus, Andy Stott and more.

Number 22 has been especially prepared by Tengui and it comes along with the announcement of his participation in this year's festival which is actually gonna be his third time at Artmospheric.


He said just a few words about the mix, but there is no need to explain more:

All vinyl, some stuff from the 90s, some stuff from the 00s and 10s. My 'interpretation' of IDM, I guess. No flashy blending, just quick mixes (mostly) and a careful selection of tracks I love, with the Balkan Mountains very much in mind.

Usually, there is no recordings from the most memorable parties. Or, in case not everything is lost, there is a problem.

Refracted's gig at Contemporary Techno Structures in Sofia is not an exception.

The random clicks and crackles coming from the recording device are not an issue compared to the fact that the whole region between minutes 62 and 108 is mono, but this doesn't in the least detract from the indian charm of this musical journey.

We are looking forward to our next meeting with Alex in July at Artmospheric, which is a perfect surrounding for that tribal hypnotica.

Artmospheric comes out from a symbiosis between Art and Atmosphere. The initial main objective is to bring contemporary arts closer to the natural environment in order to raise public awareness of actual issues in that field, such as global warming or mass consumption.

Since 2006, Artmospheric and "Open Mind" Foundation have organized various cultural events in the field of contemporary arts, such as the annual Artmospheric Festival, concerts, exhibitions, multimedia performances and installations, etc.

During the years Artmospheric Festival has evolved as a regional leading event for conceptual electronic music, targeted to advanced listeners and fans of alternative culture.
