Ripensis: What bothers you most? That he's working against the system in general by not being dependent on it or that he isn't coddling his sons so they don't end up whining in college about their hurt widdle feelings?

This does sound a good idea, but is it the best thing for his sons in modern day society. How successful can they be in our tech-focused society should they decide to participate in it. Becasue this seems to be more of a parents thing and not a kids thing. Are these kids not going to grow up and resent their parents for shutting them off from mainstream society.
