In this new EP, Leo Leyzerowitz delivers three tracks influenced by his love of contemporary art. Each piece is a condensed collection of living textures and frequencies designed to penetrate the heart.

Unlike the other pieces designed for the gigs, Andromeda is part of the duration, and represents the repetitive side of the action, the hard work, but also the inexhaustible desire to dance, dear to the artist.

The two remixes produced by Aspot, Lloyd Tate & Beckhaüser, three figures of the microhouse, complete the project by giving it a wider impact, and by bringing new colors as deep as intense.

Exarde’s just keep it spinnin’. This time our protagonist was originally born in Transylvania, so he knows something about the dancing vampires you often see at parties. This is confirmed by the fact that his release also contributed a lot to the gothic side of the dancefloor. 

MAR.C is obsessed with dark sounds but specifically loves a guitar, acid and weirdly uplifting electro sounds. So, by his words this EP is exactly concentrated on frequencies between these two spectrums. On the remix duty’s we got P.O with his interpretation which gives an even more unique vibe as a groover for the closing scene.

‘True Definition EP’ hails the 3rd release on I’m A House Gangster for the hugely popular Belgium based DJ/Producer Ramon Tapia. The title track is a giant feel-good dance-floor hug, where warm melodic loops interweave with an infectious House groove. ‘True Definition’ also comes with a tasty re-rub from IAHG’s captain who gets busy with his Sneakology beat science. ‘Motion’ is an energetic driving groove with a Latin tinged undercurrent, bound with a contagious bumping bass, quirky hooks and sweeping warm synths. ‘Barrydubb’ carries a techier feel where crisp beats are joined with sweeping strings and hypnotic vocal hooks that dance through the track.

Ramon Tapia was born and raised in Holland, but is of Chilean decent. He followed in his father’s footsteps in his teenage years when he began producing. the young talent was brought up on a musical diet of Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Kraftwerk, Front 242, and the early pioneers of Detroit techno. His two older sisters played a key part in his musical formation, sparking his imagination with tales of dance floor epiphanies. Once bitten by the techno bug, Ramon moved to Belgium’s scene capital, Antwerp, to study as a jeweler and diamond cutter. It was a part-time job in a record shop that helped to decide his destiny. He began producing tracks with a colleague, later producing solo. After a fruitful period producing tough Techno, Ramon Tapia found fame under his new moniker in the late 2000s on labels like Herzblut, Craft and Yellow Tail, forging a new school Techno sound that blended the slower, sexier sounds of the contemporary vibe with his schooling in the genre from the past. In 2010 he mixed a compilation for Strictly Rhythm, plundering their back catalogue for a full mix of new interpretations by him and various collaborators - catapulting him onto the world stage. “It was a great opportunity and made me grow in a lot of aspects.” he says. 

The cream of Holland’s Techno scene soon followed suit, with his worked snapped up by 2000 And One’s Remote Area and 100% Pure, Shinedoe’s Intacto and Secret Cinema’s Gem Records and further afield by Germany’s Great Stuff and Tiga’s Turbo. Remixes for Paul Weller, Armand van Helden, Nic Fanciulli, Marc Romboy, Monika Kruse, Mauro Picotto, DJ Sneak, Umek and many others came. Eventually in 2012 he set up his own labels, Say What? Recordings and collaboration label Aella Music (which he runs together with Hermanez). With tinges of his Latin background lacing his percussion sections and his Dutch/Belgian heritage providing the basis for his hard-grooving Techno template, his sound is one that mixes organic, tribal rhythm and syncopation and electronic machinations to potent effect. Ramon first joined I’m A House Gansgster in 2013 with his ‘Intense EP’, followed by the massive ‘House Assignment Vol.1’ in 2014. He describes his IAHG sound as a jacking, grooving, family affair!"

t's obvious that Kiev-based vinyl label Artreform holds 2015 under the sign of expansion of international relations. So, the series of this year's successful releases from Larry Peters, Benno Blome and Ugur Project continues with the EP from Italian duo Luminer. Andrea Martello and Giulio Spagnuolo are known in their homeland as producers who are passionate about learning the intricates of House and Techno sound. Their releases are kept, with a minimum of melodic aspects, but sound definitely good and accurate. Luminer doesn't deviate from that principles with their two new tracks for Artreform. 'Orbita', 'Calendula' (the titles refer us to Slavic languages) and 'Pressant’ is a meditative dry Deep House which, however, works well on the dancefloors.

It is a well-known fact that the rings on some tropical trees can inform scientists about turning points in human history. And likewise, one can find and read the history of the Ukrainian electronic scene among the copies of records in the archives of the vinyl label Artreform. The needle drops, the record starts spinning, and as it revolves, one finds themselves moving on the legendary Heaven dancefloor, once described in Laurent Garnier’s Electroshock. Local crowd favorite DJ JOSS puts on his recently written killer acid track "Well Placed Trust," remixed by Israeli producer Chaim. The first record in the Artreform catalog is playing…

From one release to another, one can hear how tech house and house music have changed over the years. How club sensations of the 2010s went explosive (Boom Boom Room, L8 Park, Mantra); how Ostrov Festival was developing, and stars from Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv established their presence on the musical map… To the present-day charity events at КУРЕНІ. Artreform music has always been played at those parties and within those walls.

Today, as they’re confidently approaching their landmark 50th vinyl release, label boss Jennie JOSS and his team are still full of desire to release and promote their favorite music. The label’s catalog already includes an all-star crew of local artists: IO, Harris, Outstrip, KiRiK, Raru, Silat Becksi, Alex Pervukhin, Rayo, Fedo, and JOSS’ self-produced releases. The internationals are as impressive as the local back catalog, including Robot Needs Oil, Frank Lorber, Christian Burkhardt, Daniel Stefanik, Djebali, Magnus Asberg, Priku, Mihai Popoviciu, Bushwacka!, Franco Cinelli, Tom Clark, Benno Blome. 

This roster is likely to be expanded with new intriguing names. Judging by how engaged the label is in defending the spirit of freedom in its homeland, Ukraine, there can be no doubt that the imprint is privy to some exceptional plans for the future.
