The first full length podcast from the Arts Barge Project in York.  Its  a little rough round the edges, recorded almost entirely on a Zoom H4N and a rifle mic, but the music and the message is what you should be listening to.  There are some great young artists performing in York at the moment, the scene is as vibrant as ever!! Alex Morden Osborne is an amazing young singer-song-writer, The Lungs are fantastic and Littlemores are keeping the spirit of rock 'n roll alive in the north of England.  This particular gig, Young, Talented & Beautiful was a resounding success at the Boxing Club on Walmgate, and also acted as the launch-pad for "Musicians Against Child Sexual Exploitation".  This is an initiative that the Arts Barge Project is working on in partnership with the Jack Raine Foundation to protect some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.  Please visit their website, make a donation - this is an organisation doing wonderful work in a very difficult arena and as such any time or money you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated.  Unlike big, (inter)national charities, the Jack Raine Foundation will feel your input on the front-line!  :)

Young Talented & Beautiful Podcast  (2014)

The project formed in 2008 after discussions about the closure of the old (and much missed) Arts Centre on Micklegate. A barge was seen as a great way of combining two of the city’s major assets – our river and our arts scene – in a space that’s more financially viable than a city-centre building. As of October 2012 we are a not-for-profit, limited company – The Arts Barge Project Ltd.
