This song is about our Northern neighbor Canada, I wrote this because    some  Americans  were giving them a hard time about opening their border due to the pandemic. Leave Canada alone, let them make their own decisions. Gracious, polite, people if you have a Canadian over for dinner they are doing the dishes with you at the end of the night.! Beautiful country through and through.

The first song of this title was done years ago with 
Paulo of "Nothin' But  The Blues",  a collaborative effort w 'Bay BLUES"!
It disappeared off SoundCloud  and no. copies could be found even though it had  over 5000 plays!  "Bay Blues"
composed the lyrics on the first composition but didn't have control of the posting, this one he does and worked with his long time writing partner @Vince Stewart redoing lyrics and music, @Vince pickin' beautiful Guitar

BOOZE AND BLUES FOR THE HOLIDAYS_5

As I approach the end of my project to record all my 250 or so songs (written since 1959), I am looking thru my lyrics collection and wondering if any od the ones which I have left out "should" be included.

This is one that I wrote around 1962 (+ or -) before I became a Teenager. I am not sure why I nearly discarded this song, I was always very fond of it. So here it is updated withbacking from Suno

Second skim thru my oldest lyric notebook have thrown up songs, which I did not ever perform very often and they got forgotten - as they do. However, using SUNO AI to bring them upto date, I have rediscovered songs which I am happy to say, I am proud to aknowledge.
This particular song has also thrown some of my dating assumptions in to disarray. I can date this one to a particular year, because I was doing a 12 month MSc course at University. I will have to look again at the date of many of my songs written in the 60's and 70's. I had this pegged as mid 60's but it is from 1970, just before my eldest son was born.
Anyway, I love the version from this assisted AI production from SUNO.

My Home Town

Been working overtime today with all those tracks that I have had second thoughts about brining upto date. I have given this a synchopated, pop sound - I think. Originall based on a chicago blues song (style and chord sequence) from a guitar tutor I used to learn how to play finger style( yep?) on my first ever guitar. Of course, Suno has its own take on my prompts, as it does.

Just A Game

Felt the lyrics deserved a big ballad with a rock orchestra. my first thoughts were country, but by the time I had typed them in, I had changed my mind. 
Hope you like it as much as I do.
Originally written early 1960's, but again a song which I didn't sing very often, listeniing to this, I realise why - it simply needs a bigger backing than I could give with my acoustic guitar.

When I'm With You

I keep finding them... I was way too hard on myself - and on the songs from my past. This was written in the late 60's (possibly early 70's) - I am beginning to see how much of a mess my first lyric notebook is in as regards dating. 

Prompting Suno for a slow jazz-ballad, Americana, and orchestra with full brass section has delighted me. I had to do a little editing in Audacity and may not have been the version of first choice escept for one tiny error which the vocal performance made withscanning the lyric. Repeating the word, "of" in the title, which obviously is very noticeable. But this version had other advantages although I did have to copy a little of the outro and use for an intro, which Suno left out.
But all's well that ends well, hope you like this track.

In The Jungle Of My Mind

I haven't been doing a great deal of editing my old, original lyrics. It was a deliberate decision at the start of this AI project. I used Suno's AI assisted capabilities to bring a little life to these often forgotten lyrics, and I had over 250 songs to work through. OK I know there is an argument for quality rather than quantity, but these songs are a personal history and are a reflection of the time they were written.

This song has been different, after a few iterations using varying genres (and I never did write with a genre in mind - they were for me to sing and strum along to) I kept seeing a reason to do more than change  a word here and there. So I looked very carefull at the song,  because it is not the same "crap" I usually wrote, and I hoped to improve it a little. I spent a lilttle more time on it using experience from the past 66 years of songwriting, I also spent more time on the prompts, but SUN has a mind of it's own......

Any way, I am really pleased with this version, I hope you like it as much as I do.

All My AI assisted songs are free to download.

I have been writing songs since1959 until the present. As a songwriter, I am more than happy with the wide range of songs I have written over the years. But my musical skills are quite limited and the early demos on Souncloud are of me singing  and accompanying myself on guitar or latterly ukulele. I can strum the strings well enough, but there my skills end.

Recently I discovered Suno AI and the results astounded me. I could finally produce demos of my songs to be proud of. I am currently going thru my catalogue of songs and producing AI assisted demos. I know many musicians turn away from AI but it has a place for me. There is no other way I could have obtained some 300 demos to this level. I do not and do not intend to look for any reward except the satisfaction that hearing my own songs gives me.

I am still writing and hope to have many more years of songs left in me, Enjoy if you can and I would love to hear your comments on the tracks, if the music moves you at all.
