This song is about our Northern neighbor Canada, I wrote this because    some  Americans  were giving them a hard time about opening their border due to the pandemic. Leave Canada alone, let them make their own decisions. Gracious, polite, people if you have a Canadian over for dinner they are doing the dishes with you at the end of the night.! Paulo of "Nothin' But  The Blues",  a collaborative effort w 'Bay BLUES"!
It disappeared off SoundCloud  and no. copies could be found even though it had  over 5000 plays!  "Bay Blues"
composed the lyrics on the first composition but didn't have control of the posting, this one he does and worked with his long time writing partner @Vince Stewart redoing lyrics and music, @Vince pickin' beautiful Guitar

BOOZE AND BLUES FOR THE HOLIDAYS_5

I seem to have glossed over a few more songs which maybe I shouldn't have done. A few small edits and repetitions of a couple of sections - seems to be all that is needed. Maybe I was being too hard on myself by ignoring them.
Any thoughts?

Wanted

This is, I think, the first R&B/soul track I have uploaded.I think it was the lyric which was the problem, simply difficult to fit the genres I normally work with. I tried 2/3 including jazz and it was the jazz which came closest to my original feeling for this lyric. Sruggling, I suddenly realised with "soul" as a theme, I ought to try R&B but slow and sultry - it seems to have worked, I am pleased to say.
The orginal song was written 24/4/1980, and I don't remember ever really playing mit very much. Perhaps I just ciouldn't find my soul......?

Searching For My Soul

Still finding lyrics which I thought, I could not use, in my project to update all my old songs, This one was written in April, 1980. Again, the issues I no doubt had have largely been overcome by a little editing, but at this time, I was "churning" out lyrics and simply leaving those which did not "work" - not really finishing them, I guess. Not a concious decision, I must have had some feeling for them since they found a place in my notebooks. A busy life and too many songs.......

But this was one of two very acceptable versions frpm the first iteration after editing. I did try more iteratiions but did not feel I could improve on this. Hopw you like it.

That's Alright With Me

I found this fun song, and realised I had not bought it upto date yet. For some reason I wrote this song, back in the sixties as a calypso number. Maybe I mixed up Lance Percival (remember that was the week that was, maybe not, you are probably too young) with Bob Marley.?????

Anyway I tried to get Suno to give me a calypso track. Our ideas on calypso seemed to be miles apart, so I ended up with Reggae.

Second skim thru my oldest lyric notebook have thrown up songs, which I did not ever perform very often and they got forgotten - as they do. However, using SUNO AI to bring them upto date, I have rediscovered songs which I am happy to say, I am proud to aknowledge.
This particular song has also thrown some of my dating assumptions in to disarray. I can date this one to a particular year, because I was doing a 12 month MSc course at University. I will have to look again at the date of many of my songs written in the 60's and 70's. I had this pegged as mid 60's but it is from 1970, just before my eldest son was born.
Anyway, I love the version from this assisted AI production from SUNO.

My Home Town

Been working overtime today with all those tracks that I have had second thoughts about brining upto date. I have given this a synchopated, pop sound - I think. Originall based on a chicago blues song (style and chord sequence) from a guitar tutor I used to learn how to play finger style( yep?) on my first ever guitar. I have been writing songs since1959 until the present. As a songwriter, I am more than happy with the wide range of songs I have written over the years. But my musical skills are quite limited and the early demos on Souncloud are of me singing  and accompanying myself on guitar or latterly ukulele. I can strum the strings well enough, but there my skills end.

Recently I discovered Suno AI and the results astounded me. I could finally produce demos of my songs to be proud of. I am currently going thru my catalogue of songs and producing AI assisted demos. I know many musicians turn away from AI but it has a place for me. There is no other way I could have obtained some 300 demos to this level. I do not and do not intend to look for any reward except the satisfaction that hearing my own songs gives me.

I am still writing and hope to have many more years of songs left in me, Enjoy if you can and I would love to hear your comments on the tracks, if the music moves you at all.
