[Interpretation]
The obvious answer here is human life and death, and the power to take it away. In some awful, dark way, Mama, a song about parenthood, can be applied to this interpretation too -- you have to decide to keep a baby, after all. That said, to us, this song and the theme are more about opportunity and choice, and the ‘thrill’ that comes after making the choice to let live, which in this case, is the joy of bringing a child to the world, watching them grow and all the ups and downs on the way. Parenthood may seem a frightening prospect, and some will turn down the opportunity before it even happens by deciding ‘no’, but most of those who choose to give life seem pretty well rewarded with a priceless commodity: love.
