Okay so I just checked, and this is the first Aryay song I’ve released in 5 years. A lot has changed since I last put out music under the Aryay alias. Back then I was signed to Owsla and was a touring DJ. I stopped pursuing that path for a couple reasons - mainly because I was always so in my head about wether or not the music I wanted to release was good enough — I would have people like Diplo, Skrillex, DJ Snake, Dillon Francis and others I looked up to validate my unreleased songs; they would offer advice and tell me “put the song out and let people decide wether or not its good enough” but I kept getting in my own way. Eventually the Aryay DJ path sort of fizzled out as I struggled with some form of imposter syndrome. In the meantime I almost moved back home to Chicago around 2018 when I was running out of money. I was this close to quitting music. Then Anjulie and I randomly connected and I found out I could make music with other people. I know now it sounds funny, but at the time I was so wrapped up in this EDM music mindset of “You have to make every single song yourself with no help.” At that point I had never really sat down with a song writer to write a song. Instead I was used to getting random acapella tracks and creating a song around that (Thats how “Always Wanted you” my last release in 2017 came about) 

Fast forward a bit, I signed a publishing deal with Diplo and Mad decent which was honestly the most valuable learning experience	I have ever had in my music career. I learned what a session was lol, at the time I did not know how to record vocals. I learned a lot about the business side of music. I learned how people sit down and write songs together. I was thrown into the fire so to speak, but it pushed me in ways I did not know I was capable of. Whats cool is that this process took me back to my roots in music towards instrumentation. I started learning how to play guitar again and incorporating that more into my productions. 

Now, after a couple years of producing and writing for other people I decided to release my own song. This is the first time I’ve ever released a song where I’m the one singing, which feels pretty vulnerable. I tried to get a few different artists to take this song for themselves because I was too insecurexq to release a song with me singing, but everyone I played it for said something like “You sound so natural on the song you should just release it yourself” So after 2 + years of this song sitting on my hard drive I said fuck it! Ironically, the song is called “Do This Myself” 

Another cool little back story to the song is that the chorus was written by my older brother Shlomo (not the DJ Shlomo which people always ask) when he was 18 or so. I was able to take a chorus he wrote when he was a kid and kind of mold a new song around it to be true to my life at the time I wrote it. I’d like to thank my good friend Jonny for helping with some additional production, Ryan for shooting the artwork photo, and shouts to Brian for mixing it and brining it to life! Back in the day I would have been so ego bruised if I didn’t do every part of the production / mix myelsf but I’ve learned along the way its all about the final song. No one really cares how many people it took to make a song, they care wether or not it feels true and sounds good. If you’re still reading this I love you. I don’t plan on doing any sort of marketing push for this song. I plan on letting this all happen organically. If you feel inclined, share the song with someone. It's been over a year since I've released the last volume in my Lion Kit Series. Over the past year I've been blessed to work with so many different producers and songwriters who make all sorts of music. This has really allowed me to create an all around eclectic sample pack this time around that lends itself to any genre. My focus with these Lion Kit's has been to inspire fellow artists; for you to go in on these sounds and build something new, and to do it in nontraditional ways. As a producer, I am all too aware of being uninspired; in this case a new sample pack can be just what the doctor ordered. Creating Volume 3 has really meant a lot to me, as I took a totally new approach to what I collected. With Lion Kit Vol.1 and 2 I relied heavily on cutting up samples from my favorite tracks which in the end gave me no choice but to offer it for free. This time around I've put a pricetag on my kit but honestly, I'm very proud of it and excited to provide you with a whole new soundscape. The sounds within have all been exported from my own productions or created from layering and processing my presets and sounds. I know you are gonna love this! This is my first original song released in well over a year. Since my last release VICIOUS I think I have grown in a lot of ways. To those of you who have been rocking with me since day one, THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT and for letting my hone in on my sound.
