Time is not returnable is something I've been planning for a while now, I come up with the idea to get myself out there and known as a vocalist. 
I've been practising vocals for 4 years now on and off and it's something I'm passionate about and it drives me. 'As I Grow' as I come up with it I will also be carrying my previous bands name. As I grow is something I can relate everything I write about to, though experiences and events in my life it is all apart of growing, developing as a person and learning. The EP name 'time is not returnable' speaks for itself, My aim is to inspire and encourage people to be themselves and that things happen for a reason,I do believe in fate and things do happen for a reason. i've been through a lot to get to where and how I'm standing today, things come and happen in time, they can't be forced upon. When it comes to writing lyrics they come naturally, songs, books, poems, films and even everyday happenings (such as sitting on the bus) I tend to write in metaphors to my current surroundings or themes, all those things inspire me. Time is not returnable is saying value your time, push yourself and pursue your dreams but the only person that can help you is yourself, it's your life, it's your time, living with someone else's goals and priories could corrupt your own. 

The EP genre is progressive Metalcore, it includes 3 tracks, Time is not returnable, Roots and Doll. 

'Time is not returnable' is about me as a person, letting go of who I am. I've never been a confident person and i've always held onto the past. sometimes I avoid things by making up an excuse but as I've gotten older I've questioned myself, what's there to lose? Nothing, in order to gain I need to do.  Many times in my life I've been promised, some stick and some don't, false hope. There's nothing worse, getting my hopes up for nothing. At the end of the day what I haven't heard doesn't bother me, unless something is said to my face by a person I actually take interest in, nothing else will phase me and negative comments will only build me not bring me down. 

'Roots' is the song I had least time with, with the entire EP i've had to get it done before my operation because I've been told I can't vocal practise or exercise for 6 weeks after and i've been planning it since november. Anyway, I got it two nights before my operation so i had to adjust myself to the instrumental, write, fit lyrics and record vocals all in a day, Its by far my favourite track. Again the track speaks for itself. It's about me growing up, what I've learnt from it. its like a song to myself telling me not to give in or give up. Some people don't respect their parents as much as me but at the end of the day, your parents have made you who you are whether they're no longer around or have neglected you, you've still learnt from it, you've adapted as a person to handle it. The chances are our parents have been through what we have or currently going through but twice as much, so surely they should be the best people to turn to. Don't say you haven't got anyone to talk to because you have. They may be strict but they know what's best, they're giving you what their parents didn't give them, they say and do things for a reason.

'Doll' I don't tend to write about a certain person, more of a situation that I've encountered in my life, with this track it expresses how I felt and I simply wrote it in hope it would help me getting over that certain someone, It has and i haven't released it at this very moment that i'm writing this. I have my story and you have your story and it's very difficult to find the words to say to someone that you've developed feelings for, either you or I are scared when it comes to telling someone how you feel incase you scare them away or already know how they feel. I could never open up and even though its to late this is how I can. I planned to release Doll as a single to get myself out there and decided I  wanted to bring out more than just one track so I came up with the idea of bringing out an EP to show off all areas of my vocal range. Even though I didn't get to spend as much time on the entire EP this is one of the tracks i had most time with and I stressed and stressed about it because my feelings kept changing but when it came to recording it I was happiest with it. 

 I featured my good friend Hayley because I wanted to include a conversational style to Doll to express what was said during the time I was writing about the theme of the song. She also features in Roots to add a tint of subtle melody

 I had a tight scudule with recording 'Time Is not Returnable' although i wish i could of spent more time on it i'm happy with it and proud of what i've achieved, a project that I paid, worked, practised and wrote for, I never expected it to be as good as it is. 

 With zero talent in instrument playing you're probably wondering who wrote the tracks for me, Matt Ambler, I take interest in his band 'Summits' and I very much like his style of writing and sound. Anyway, I asked Matt to write a track for me and when he did he showed me and i simply loved it, considering all communication was over the internet it was all him with a few adjustments at the end after he showed me but i was impressed. Then 'Time is not returnable' came into mind and i asked him to right another 2. Doll was the first track he wrote and then 'Time is not returnable" followed by 'Roots' We tried to tackle roots in a different way, music over vocals, that failed and then I got the instrumental a week later and i'm content with the way its turned out. 

"I love the start to finish, the development. 
From writing the lyrics, to hearing the music, to fitting, to projecting the words and listening to the final mix of the song. Creation, it's beautiful, creative and important. Whether it's more for me or someone else, it's the way of release for someone to relate. 
But when I sing, scream during practise or performing I want it to take me back to the state of mind I was in when I wrote it, to remind me how I felt but also to tell me that I pulled through, that I pull together words to detach my mind from my heart and bring together people to relate, to share and encourage."
