Sadness In Madness

Last year, I tried to make daily loops. I picked a random sample or synth preset and went with it, even if it was my library's worst sample or preset.
about a year ago I created a short loop called "Taking a break" with this approach.

This loop has been stuck in my mind from time to time,
untz untz untz untz.
And I wanted to see what I could do with it.
untz untz untz untz.
It had a fun gimmick, and it was certainly entertaining,
untz untz untz untz.
so why the hell not?
untz untz.... I think you get the point.

I merged some synth and samples for a new kick, replaced the other samples, and redid the synth I had for the melody to allow for more control and just had fun with it.
And with that, I'm "Retaking the Break"

Retaking The Break

I had this weird idea: I wanted to clamp all the sounds at around 512 Hz.
One sound would eventually find a way to ignore the low-pass filter and sing away.
It came out rather well, but I'd like to revisit it at some point with something more playful.

I tried to keep all the low-frequency sounds from blending too much, but, well, *shrug*. I'll put in some additional effort if I re-attempt a track like this.

Regardless, I had fun.

Weekly Beats 2024 - Week 12. I... I Love you... I knew I wanted to do something with a weird beat and pick a random sample from the 70k-ish samples I have collected by now. It ended up being an odd rattle. Also felt it needed a vocal and remembered I used an "I Love You" sample a while back.  Queue a lot of lfo's and pads, which turned into this.

Weekly Beats 2024 - Week 43

What I wrote at the time:
I wanted to try something different for a bit, moving away from the more techno-ey stuff I make and trying something more ethereal/paddy.

After a few hours of work, I am pleased enough to upload it.
