New track ‘Missing Teeth’, out today follows on from 'Cacao' and investigates the mystery of the duo’s local bakery owner’s teeth, flipping their confusion into an oddball dance friendly jam.

Bienvenue Recordings is proud to present the first recording of Secret Witness. Created in winter 2020, the band brings together producers Gabriel Rei and Gene Tellem, singer/songwriter Laroie, and drummer Pascal Deaudelin. ‘Volume I’ is presented as the fruit of this reunion, an ideal pairing for seekers of dancefloor influenced reflection. Night tunes to best capture the driving and soulful essence of deep house, with lyrical play to help you imagine. Recorded between Saint-Sauveur and Montreal, this six track mini-album reaches for sophistication, playfulness and romance... we can all agree that it is a useful three.

Her Majesty’s Ship turns to emergent new talent La Mverte for its 11th release. The French artist has appeared on labels like Astro Lab in recent times and has shown himself to be someone with a fresh new perspective that takes cues from Italo disco with waves of metallic synths and muted rhythms all embedded within. This new EP comes backed with a remix from Acid Washed.
Up first is ‘Through The Circles’ which is a purposefully slow and wiggling groove that has a hint of dark biker disco to it. The drums are raw and loose and the synths are wide and searching, making for a delightfully cinematic experience from start to finish.
Next up is ‘The Rim is Shot’, another delightfully slo-mo swagger that has chattery claps, spikey synth stabs and wobbling basslines all dancing slowly around each other in loose limbed unison.
On the flip side, ‘Crash Course’ then ups the ante a little, laying down quicker drums and running them through with more tobacco stained synths and thick, rasping basslines. A filtered male voice beams down from above and brings a dark-wave vibe to proceedings, but La Mverte’s dazzling production still shines through.
Acid Washed, of labels like Record Makers & MB Disco, then reworks the track into something a little more kinked, funky and colourful. His playful version has dancing, nimble synth stabs and hip swinging percussive claps that work you into a dancing frenzy with ease.
It’s only early in the career of La Mverte, but on the evidence of this lively and arresting post- disco EP, he is sure to go on to big things in the near future.

Formed in 2012 by friends Oliver Geerts and Gilles Noë, Asa Moto purvey non-standard body music from their Ghent outpost, Studio Martino. Closely affiliated with famed Soulwax imprint, Deewee, the Belgian duo’s recorded offerings carefully juxtapose expert synth-work with aesthetic imperfection. Charming melodies and throbbing rhythms come courtesy of archaic tone generators and acoustic instrumentation alike, landing Asa Moto in a zone of confident sonic idiosyncrasy. 

Their studio prowess has hardly gone unnoticed and during their breakout year of 2018, Resident Advisor, Redbull and the BBC were quick to take note of the group’s steady ascent. Italo-leaning Kifesh was handpicked off of Paradise, by Resident Advisor, for their coveted Track of the Month feature, while the album as a whole received critical acclaim over at De Morgen, one of Belgium’s finest newspapers. The duo ended their year with an impressive four nominations at the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards, for Best Producer, Album, Remix and Artwork. 

Via their ever-changing live performances, Geerts and Noë have become regular fixtures on the European touring circuit, touching down for club nights and festival appearances across the continent.  As astute selectors, Asa Moto operate a bi-monthly radio show in Brussels, digging into their sprawling collection, ranging from obscure jazz records to contemporary electronic cuts.

Heading into 2019 with a handful of new recorded works, Asa Moto look re-adapt their unmistakable strain of body music into a full band live show, the Belgian duo’s most ambitious project yet.
