The Reason featuring Evan Duffy

A few years ago i had asked Lisa to record some phrases about sleep for me in dutch, which i then sampled to create the original demo & it's various iterations. The tune was good but had remained unfinished which she has never let me forget, whilst continually reminding me of how much my music means to her as she has been one of the most loving & supportive people in my life over the past 10 years.

So it pains me to say that she passed away under tragic circumstances a few weeks ago & her family had contacted me to request the song for her funeral, I spent a week or so reworking it in a way that i know she would love & would be appropriate for the circumstances.

I would like to thank the De Vries / Loi family for being so open towards me in such a difficult time & allowing me to honour her memory this way.

Some words from the family -
"Everything is very hard, but we know she loved your music and found comfort, happiness and joy in it. She was so proud when you sent her the clip of the demo. She shared it with all of us.

For us it was a comfort to play the track as a final goodbye, just before the cremation.

Lisa was loved and a friend, help and comfort for lots of people. We were surprised by the beautiful memories people shared with us.

We love that this will be her message to the world; I hope you’ll have beautiful dreams, tomorrow is another day again, good night."
