This song is a story of initiation. I use the Archetype of the "Old Man" to Illustrate a feeling and invocation of such a process. "Mahuhe" is Hawaiian for "Two Spirit". Truth in Rhymes is a mystical excerpt of my truth~

This song came to me in a vision last March. I was recapping on my summer spent w/my partner in the cosmic lands of our Natl Parks: Canyonlands, Moab, Zion and our summer home above Telluride, Co., along the Mesa Range, nestled below the San Juans Mnts. Now when I read the lyrics, I realize how it was also speaking to an event that would shake me and occur in the future...Standing Rock. An all encompassing vision, both a reflection of the past and foretelling the future. Here's the lyrics~

This is a track off of my upcoming EP. It's a song for the moment, created out of a recording moment, for you to take a moment and listen to and let it go, just as I did. We were at the end of a 2 day recording process and this song birthed spontaneously. To our surprise it sounded quite nostalgic..like shopping at a thrift store and finding the perfect pair of vintage levi's for hardly a dime. So here it is! Feeling...a feeling of what its like to let go of rehearsed material and come from the heart, from the eternal now. Recorded live at Ancient Wave Studios. Santos Sitar on guitar. All analog. This was a purely "for fun" track recorded over a year ago at Ancient Wave Studios. Who doesn't love Stevie Nicks? Well, I'm sure there are those that don't but I on the other hand attribute years of inspiration to this iconic woman who fashioned chiffon and mystery like no other.
