Yes people! This is a set from one of our head honchos, Jim Brown, from our Hare and Hounds event back in February. 

We've had a short hiatus to decide on the direction we want our label to move towards in the future. We will now be fully multi-genre with our releases, but still with the deep and darker sounds of Ascension you know and love. We want to provide a place for heads that love immersion and atmosphere in electronic music, across all genres. It feels that this is a space in the scene that needs filling! 

We really hope our forthcoming content fills this void and resonates with you!

'The Watchman EP’ is the debut project from both Ascension and Jim Brown, a future star in the deep electronic continuum. Jim has spent the last few years in the shadows, perfecting his craft and vision. This EP embodies creativity, character, and absolutely oozes atmosphere.

‘The Watchman’ is a smashing start to the EP - a rolling, deep techno track, with panning vocal chops and percussion swaying from ear to ear. There’s a real unique groove about this one, and it provides a truly hypnotic listen.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Spuds, Eggs & Hand Grenades onto the Ascension imprint for the third installation of the ‘Soundscapes’ series.

Harry and Brandon are two selectors and curators we massively respect. The duo have carved their way in the underground scene through passion for deep digging, showcasing super-rare cuts alongside bargain-bin smashers. These two continue to inspire both of us at Ascension, providing the best cuts we otherwise may not have had the pleasure of listening to.

'Soundscapes' 003 - Spuds, Eggs & Hand Grenades

It’s a pleasure to welcome Keiran Hostead onto the Ascension imprint for the fourth installation of the ‘Soundscapes’ series.

With our ears always tuned to the underground, Keiran has consistently impressed us with his output over the last couple of years. He has immersed himself in the Leeds underground scene, and draws from inspirations of deep techno, electro and synth pop cuts, throwing in leftfield curveballs in his sets and mixes alike. If you aren’t familiar with Keiran, get to know!

In this mix, Keiran explores darker, trippier, and unconventional sounds and atmospheres. This includes recent record pick ups from influences old and new.
