I recorded this mix a few years ago, and I know it's difficult to stand out amongst the thousands of other Dilla tributes, but, what the hell, here it is. This mix was recorded in one take, but I edited the playlist at least a dozen times. I also let some of the tracks run longer than usual, because they're just too good. Almost two full hours of J Dilla. Every beat on this mix was done by Jay Dee (with the exception of the Platinum Pied Pipers track and No one Knows), and a good portion feature his rhymes. Again, in no way is this definitive. I tried to showcase his various styles, including raw joints from the Ruff Draft EP, classics from his production stint with A Tribe Called Quest and even the R&B / Neo-soul tracks. Like always, some original samples sprinkled in for flavor. Turn that shit up.....
