Dhaani, daughter of Sheikh Kaleem, is a happy go lucky girl who lives in a dream world. She is an apple for her aunt’s eye, who loves Dhaani more than her own son, Raja.  Raja is a kite flyer and a failure in studies. He loves Dhaani but did not get a chance to express his love.
Sameer, son of a business tycoon Seth Rehan, gets attracted to Dhaani. The attraction seems to be a challenge for Sameer, since he finds her arrogant and reserve. Gradually the two protagonists become staunch friends, where Dhaani comes under a pre conceived notion that Sameer loves her. She asks him to send a proposal, but in return she finds out that he never considered her more than a friend.
There is a twist in fate when the two protagonists get separate by getting engaged to someone else,which ultimately leads to realizations and repercussions. Raja adds to the drama by taking revenge from Sameer for hurting Dhaani, which opens a new chapter in the lives of Dhaani, Sameer and Raja.
How Raja takes his revenge and what would be the consequence which Dhaani will face? What decisions will Dhaanitake for Sameer and Raja?

Dastaan (Urdu: داستان‎) is a Pakistani drama serial dramatized by Sameera Fazal, and based on the novel "Bano", by Razia Butt. It is based on the Partition of India (and the eventual creation of Pakistan), and takes place between 1947 and 1956. The drama depicts the story of Bano, a girl from a close knit Muslim family living in Ludhiana (located in the state of Punjab) in the pre-1947 era. The story follows Bano and her fianceè, Hassan, as they face the trials and tribulations caused by the 1947 partition.
Dastaan is the first project of its kind taken up by the Pakistani media. Director Haissam Hussain stated in an interview that production for the drama began months in advance, and that the filming itself only took a little over 2 months. The show was broadcast on Hum TV.
