Michael Schmeisser, besser bekannt unter seinem Künstlernamen https://soundcloud.com/der-schmeisser, ist ein deutscher DJ, Produzent und Labelbetreiber aus Kassel, der seit über drei Jahrzehnten tief in der elektronischen Musik verwurzelt ist – immer neugierig, immer eigenständig, immer tanzbar.

Seine musikalischen Wurzeln reichen zurück bis in die frühen 1990er-Jahre. Bereits mit den ersten Computern machte er seine ersten musikalischen Experimente, zunächst im Bereich Rap und Hip-Hop. Mitte der 90er-Jahre entdeckte er schließlich seine große Leidenschaft: die elektronische Musik, die ihn bis heute fasziniert und prägt.

Im Jahr 2000 wurde er Resident-DJ im legendären Kasseler Club ARM – eine prägende Zeit, in der er sein Gespür für musikalische Dramaturgie und tanzbare Tiefe verfeinerte.

2004 gründete er gemeinsam mit Freund und Wegbegleiter Eik Neumeyer das Label Einmaleins Musik, das schnell internationale Aufmerksamkeit erlangte. Mit dem Label begann auch seine Reise auf die internationale Bühne, auf der er in den Folgejahren in unzähligen europäischen Clubs und auf Festivals spielte.

Sein Sound ist eine Mischung aus tiefem Groove, hypnotischen Elementen und genreübergreifender Offenheit. Geprägt von seinem musikalischen Background überschreitet Der Schmeisser gekonnt stilistische Grenzen und schafft es so, eine unverkennbare Handschrift in seinen Sets und Produktionen zu hinterlassen.

Seine ersten Veröffentlichungen erschienen auf Chisel Records (zusammen mit Nils Hoffmann) sowie auf renommierten Labels wie Einmaleins Musik, Incorrect, Kill the DJ, 9 Volt, Tough Toys – um nur einige zu nennen. Zahlreichen Remixe und Kollaborationen zeugen von seiner Vielseitigkeit und Offenheit gegenüber neuen Einflüssen.

Seit mehr als 30 Jahren steht er Woche für Woche hinter den Decks – mit Leidenschaft, Erfahrung und einem unermüdlichen Gespür für die richtige Platte im richtigen Moment. Aktuell ist er Resident-DJ im Club “Graf Karl” in Kassel, wo er seine musikalische Reise mit neuen Kapiteln fortschreibt.

Michael Schmeisser, better known by his stage name https://soundcloud.com/der-schmeisser, is a German DJ, producer and label head from Kassel who has been deeply rooted in electronic music for over three decades - always curious, always independent, always danceable.

His musical roots go back to the early 1990s. He made his first musical experiments with the first computers, initially in the field of rap and hip-hop. In the mid-1990s, he finally discovered his great passion: electronic music, which still fascinates and shapes him today.

In 2000, he became resident DJ at the legendary Kassel club ARM - a formative time in which he refined his sense of musical dramaturgy and danceable depth.

In 2004, together with friend and companion Eik Neumeyer, he founded the Einmaleins Musik label, which quickly gained international attention. The label also marked the beginning of his journey onto the international stage, where he played in countless European clubs and festivals in the years that followed.

His sound is a mixture of deep groove, hypnotic elements and cross-genre openness. Influenced by his musical background, Der Schmeisser skillfully crosses stylistic boundaries and manages to leave an unmistakable signature in his sets and productions.

His first releases appeared on Chisel Records (together with Nils Hoffmann) as well as on renowned labels such as Einmaleins Musik, Incorrect, Kill the DJ, 9 Volt, Tough Toys - to name a few. Numerous remixes and collaborations testify to his versatility and openness to new influences.

He has been behind the decks week after week for more than 30 years - with passion, experience and a tireless instinct for the right record at the right moment. He is currently resident DJ at the “Graf Karl” club in Kassel, where he continues his musical journey with new chapters.
