Instrumagic

Another original piece this time. I just finished a massive project today so took some time out to practice composing. Post-lullaby-adventures in your sleep, battling dream goblins and saving imaginary princesses and all that jazz. It quite heavily feature's Orange Tree Sample's new Evolution Steel String library which I can definitely recommend to anyone needing acoustic goodness.

A random piece I made way back (the file modified date says 2004). I don't remember much about writing it but I think I layered lots of sessions of me recording myself playing.

This was originally written for a game I was developing years and years ago. It's the theme tune for the games protagonists and plays in the intro cutscene as they fight to take back their planet.

Vodiex - The Good Guys

An original piece composed by Blake Robinson - This tells the story of the menacing magical hat owned by the mysterious mystical man. Used for evilness all of its existence, the hat is stolen by a group of adventuring children and used for the powers of righteous goodness. Or something like that.

It's roughly an hour or so of work so it's nothing mindblowingly crazy - just a little orchestral tinkering based around the idea of a storm. Woodwindy runs and epicness ahoy.

Destructive Nature

An original piece of music composed by Blake Robinson. These are some older pieces from the Deadbound soundtrack (another game I will finish one day - honest!). This is the game's intro piece followed by atmospheric ambience that's (blatently) inspired by Akira Yamaoka's Silent Hill soundtrack.

This song itself is a musical sequel to 'Adventures in your Sleep' from my first originals album. It's always felt like a bit of a theme tune of mine, so I really wanted to approach the track from a different angle. This rendition feels much bigger and bolder. Which one do you prefer - the version on the first album or this new one? Answers in the comments!
