One of Germany’s best streaming electronic artists KLAAS has teamed up with versatile London producer GRY for an exciting cut of festival fever. “A Place In The Dark” features a heavy dose of vintage rave sounds, rolled together with tasty vocal hooks and a series of scintillating melodies. Armed with an uptempo beat and relentless feelgood energy, this tune is bound to become a 2023 instant classic, dominating the festival stages as it’s officially out now on Timmy Trumpet’s SINPHONY.
Making moves for many years already, KLAAS is renowned for his strong, energetic tracks, influencing the global electro house sound with a wide range of releases. One of his earliest milestones was his collab with legendary act Guru Josh, reworking their “Infinity” to a worldwide smash again in 2008. 
In the years that followed, KLAAS kept dropping highly acclaimed dance tracks, from 2018’s “Ok Without You” to 2020’s “The Logical Song” and “Mr. Saxobeat”, or last year’s incredible rework of “Voyage Voyage.” The German DJ/producer is able to recognize great hooks, and revamp them in the most delirious mainstage anthems - making every new single one to look out for.
“A Place In The Dark” sees him team up with GRY, a multi-genre music producer and DJ of British-Turkish descent. He’s known for dribbling elements of trap, drum & bass, and old-school dubstep, while also producing a visual narrative through animated lighting and live performances.
Releasing some of his most popular tunes on KSHMR’s Dharma imprint, including 2021 debut “Now Or Never” alongside Nevve and Thomas Gold, he’s continued to drop inventive new singles along the way, including last year’s progressive tinged “Keep Me Around” (feat. RIELL), released on Maxximize.
Together, these guys bring out the best in each other, as “A Place In The Dark” brings both vintage rave energy and high quality songwriting as well as some headstrong productional tricks. Setting out with some tender melodies, the song builds momentum with instant catchy vocals, nicely draped across dark bass chords. As this mood evolves into an energetic beat, the vocal lines unfold a radiant chorus, catchy as hell, emphasized by sharp synth chords.
It’s a good vibe unleashed here, thanks to those lively, uptempo beats fused with sweet, infectious hooks. KLAAS proves his worth as melodic tastemaker once again, while GRY adds his rousing rhythms to keep the blood pumping. A sure shot festival crowdpleaser, destined for some live action this season.
