An imaginative geopoetic concept piece.
As well as the water that flows through the 70 mile pipeline from the Elan Valley in the Welsh uplands to the English city of Birmingham, this piece expresses the idea of a two-way sharing - or flow - of watery sonic ambiences.
Echoes, voices, field recordings, temporal reverberations. Reciprocities.
Atmospherics and hydrospherics of the counterflows.
Rural and urban, and in-between.
Sound art and acoustic ecology.

Big thanks to the sheep farming community of the Elan Valley, especially Dean, Jolene and Esme (Pen y Garreg Farm). Also to Cath and Krysia (CARAD) and Matt (Elan Links).
The soundtrack features 6min composed by Antony, followed by 6min by Nikki.
Both sonic sections incorporate pipe-band samples from Birmingham pipe bands.
The Elan Valley Aqueduct was constructed over 100 years ago by Birmingham Corporation, to supply clean water to a rapidly expanding city. A visit to Rhayader Carnival by a Birmingham pipe band was annual celebratory event for many years after.
The artist residency is hosted by the Heritage Lottery Elan Links project, and is connected to the 'Here Commons Everybody' programme supported by Arts Council England and the CCRI (Countryside and Community Research Institute)

The fifth edition of the Naviar Haiku Fest took place on the 7th of December 2022 at the iconic Cafe Oto in London. 

The event featured performances by members and friends of Naviar, working in the fields of ambient, electronic and contemporary classical music. Each performance was introduced by haiku poems written and recited by members of the British Haiku Society.

Live at Cafe OTO 2022

Radio Art Zone was a 100-day radio art station as part of the European Capital of Culture Esch2022. Conceived by Mobile Radio and jointly produced with Radio ARA, it broadcast in the south of Luxembourg. Additionally it was live-streamed, and transmitted to a worldwide audience by a network of international partner stations – reaching upwards of a quarter of a million listeners.

Radio Astral is a flow of imaginative narratives derived from drone and ambient experiments, personal field recording archives, self-generative soundscapes, improvisational gestures and sequences on both conventional and unconventional instruments, as well as decomposition of random media archives.

The sound material aims to deliver carefully sculpted psycho-navigation, suggesting that the memory of the world is an energy compound containing us all—a multi-layered resonant field in constant interaction with the space-time continuum, which we eventually experience as a reality.

This sonic journey consists of 108 tracks. I am sharing with you the first 6 hours, the original 22 hour long broadcast is archived on the Radio Art Zone page, along with other 99 amazing sound artists.

Touch Trigger Test

Rain in the cloud forest in Costa Rica, with a little bit of variation in wind, and some birds and insects throughout. I recorded this with a pair of omnidirectional mics hidden underneath foliage, and the sound of the rain striking various types of leaves is prominent.
